Video: Stephen Colbert Amped for Late Show Takeover — 'I Love a Challenge'

Stephen Colbert may be nervous about his upcoming gig as David Letterman’s Late Show replacement, but he doesn’t look it… yet.

The Colbert Report host says he’s too focused on the 65 or so remaining episodes of his Comedy Central series to worry about whether or not he’ll make Letterman proud. (But he does think about it from time to time.)

“I just hope I do a good job, because I love Dave so much,” the comedian told Michael Ausiello at this year’s Emmys, where the Report won for Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series.

I’ve no doubt he’ll do just fine. I’ll miss “The Colbert Report” something terrible when it ends, but I wish him the best of luck next year when he takes over for Letterman. And I look forward to seeing what he does for his final 60 some shows. So happy he won tonight, he deserved it.

Can’t wait for Late Show with Stephen Colbert in 2015. IN COLBERT WE TRUST

  3. Daniel says:

Stephen is a total class act…I just know he will do well…maybe even brighten up the show because, sadly, Dave has become stale (a good host and interviewer, but the monolog and first segment are very bland.)

  4. Tom says:

What do we have to do to get it so we can maximize videos from here without going to youtube?

  5. Rose says:

Steven Colbert is totally funny and the Colbert Report is my favorite show. Certainly will miss the show, but maybe the Comedy Channel will find a good new host. Taking over for Letterman is a tribute to his ability to make people laugh. Letterman will be missed but he was getting a little slow.
