Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin are bound for Brooklyn, in a manner of speaking.
The screen legends’ new Netflix comedy Grace and Frankie has cast Brooklyn Decker (Friends With Better Lives) — as well as Ethan Embry (Once Upon a Time) — in series-regular roles, TVLine has learned.
Decker will play Mallory, the younger daughter of Fonda’s Grace, while Embry will play Coyote, the charismatic son of Tomlin’s Frankie.
The show is built around the premise of the titular nemeses discovering their husbands (played respectively by Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston) are in love with each other and plan to get married.
Decker’s Mallory is described as “a classic beauty” like her mother. Because she’s “modeled her marriage after her parents,” their impending divorce makes her doubt “all aspects of the choices she’s made in her life.”
Embry’s somewhat “self-destructive” Coyote, meanwhile, will begin the series with 90 days of sobriety under his belt, determined not to fall back into a pattern of drug abuse.
