Homeland Releases Season 4 Trailer, EP Talks Carrie's 'Emotional' Journey

In addition to releasing the first official Season 4 teaser trailer on Friday, Showtime announced that the drama will return Oct. 5 at 9/8c.

“Emotionally, [Carrie] has stabilized, and the mental illness that we’ve dealt with, she has now dealt with,” executive producer Meredith Stiehm told reporters Friday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in Beverly Hills. “She’s going into this season very steady.”

Season 4 will find Carrie embarking on an overseas mission, and leaving her baby behind will certainly take its toll on her.

“She’s in a completely different role now that she’s overseas,” Stiehm explained. “The baby exists as a marker for her, emotionally … but she was forced to leave the child at home.”

Also confirmed by producers: We “probably” won’t be seeing Jessica Brody in Season 4 — and we definitely won’t be seeing Dana.

  1. Sabrina says:

The trailer looks good. I can’t wait for season 4.

  2. Azerty says:

Quick question we never found out who the mole was right? I guess they won’t come back to this storyline now?

  3. This season looks to be much better.

  4. Annie says:

I actually do hope for one scene – one meeting – between Carrie and Jessica. Some kind of closure or period on that whole long paragraph would be nice.

  5. Cleve says:

Ending Brodys wife and daughters story with absolutely no closure is going to feel so sloppy. I thought this show was better than that.

  6. Yule says:

Can we get more news about Quinn? and Quinn & Carrie? Ugh.

  7. Tran says:

Season Four of Homeland looks like a “reboot” of some kind.

  8. Coal says:

A show about a dedicated, hard working woman whom suffers from mental illness while working in a high pressure job is fantastic, while a show about a crazy woman trying to save her terrorist boyfriend got tired and boring, so I’m glad its going back to the former.

  9. What are they going to do with Carrie´s father, now that the actor passed? They are gonna write it in, or recast him?

  10. More of Brody’s wife nekkid

  11. Sue davis says:

It is a mistake to kill Brody and to keep the baby away from Clare. Those two items drove the story. It might as well have been called the Brody show It will never be the Carrie show. She’s just not that interesting

  12. Sue davis says:

This should be called the Brody show. When you remove Brody and then on top of that, the baby, it becomes the Carrie show. She is just not worth $29.99 per season. Sorry
