'Ship Shape: How Your Fave Pairs From Continuum, Girl Meets World, Penny Dreadful and Other Shows Are Faring

THE COUPLE | Continuum's Kiera and Brad
THE LATEST | Having come to accept that the future timeline from which Kiera came — and where she left her family — is not the best one to preserve, she and Brad use a rare instance of low-key time to nuzzle some on the couch at the cabin.
OUCH! | Well, that didn’t last very long — the new twosome receive a bracing “cold shower” when, after Brad triggers the beacon that presumably indicates that their timeline adjustment went well, an army of armored soldiers arrives from the future, guns a-toting!

Warms my heart how Continuum is finally getting it’s dues. Can’t wait for season 4.

  2. Moment says:

I would agree with Kiera getting a pairing. She seems so lonely at times. I think if anything it would benefit her character a lot having someone to love, especially as getting home seems like the longest of longshots.

    • M3rc Nate says:

Ya…thats cause shes married with a kid…apparently she has forgotten that.

      • Moment says:

With an almost impossible chance of returning home to her husband and son. She can’t be expected to remain alone in the hope she’ll one day return.

        • M3rc Nate says:

Lol dont let your wife/husband hear you say that…I guess Kiera Cameron is saying: “Ya i know in our vows we said till death do us part and all that…but the odds i get back to you (my husband and son) are so low that im just gonna bang a guy i cant stand cause im lonely then cause im randy and pent up im gonna fall for this total stranger who has amnesia”. I mean come on..if the love of your life husband/wife is wrongfully imprisoned for life do you divorce them and move on and bang some chicks then get a GF and remarried? Or did you take vows to be with them till death even when things are hard?

        • Josh says:

But her relationship with Brad seems so forced and Brad is SO SO SO bland. He’s pretty much a Gary Sue. They didn’t handle the relationship well at all. Starting a new relationship should have been a huge deal for Keira but we didn’t even get a mention of her husband, which is weird since he was featured this season being a pretty good husband.

If a relationship developed between her and Carols or even her and Kellog that would make sense(some stretching for the later given how contentious their relationship has become) but her feelings for Brad came out of left field.

          • M3rc Nate says:

EXACTLY! They just bring in some random guy out of no where thats “good looking” and has no memory…and shes right away drawn to him out of no where and invites him to live in her place and trusts him fully and is playing house and has all this super strong emotion for this guy that … is a bland blank character. It should have been a huge deal for her to move on and start a new relationship…i would have much preferred it be with Carlos, though im not loving his character anymore every since he went gruffly pissed (understandably though, his partner is dead, working with a alt-universe version and his super close friend was shot dead). but still. I would have hated her with Kellog btw.

Still…it was super forced, we dont know basically anything about this new guy yet she has totally aligned herself with him, has total trust in him, is falling for him…just bad writing, they should have written a LOT more scenes between them, and some scenes of her talking about her husband/son and if she is really moving on.

So far Continuum has been fantastic at keeping its plots connected and its story arcs fluid. Nothing really feels disjointed or being forgotten about or changed or dropped (COUGH Falling Skies COUGH).

BUT…the one thing i do feel like is going a bit wrong is the Kiera love story plots. I was NOT a fan at ALL of her sleeping with whats his face in the early season, but fine i get it, she was lonely and all that (her having to do it to get the time sphere thing is so invalid there were a hundred other ways to get it)….but now her with this guy? WTF happened to her husband and kid? So i guess shes just over that? This show setup her being SO loyal to her husband and kid, fighting constantly to get back and all that…and now cause its been a while, shes moving on? Im not a fan. Dont setup a series showing us the family and make her for an entire season and more complain/whine/fight to get back to her husband who shes faithful too and her son, and then just drop all that cause some handsome guy with no memory pops up and all of a sudden she moves him into her house and is playing house with this guy.

The only other issue i have with the show, i get that its all grey, we dont know who is “right”…and i like that…but it also means a lot of the time im not rooting for Kiera Cameron, in fact i typically only root for Alec. Kiera Cameron can be a giant b*tch, super selfish, and will burn people including Alec to get what she wants. Up until now its hard to root for her cause you know shes wrong, Liber8 is completely right about America right now, except their tactics are horrible. Fact is this show is right on the button of what this country is going through (btw i know its set in Canada)…now im not saying the future is a congress of businesses but is this country not wrong by big business already? Big oil, Big Pharma, Big Guns, Military complex, etc? So it sucks having this badass cool female lead character, but im wanting her to get punched in the face or Alec totally own her and get the upper hand by outsmarting her cause she is being a annoying selfish b*tch. Like she has the control to just decide which Alec is right and imprison/kill the other? Who died and made her God ya know?

  4. Ryan says:

Any word on Continuum renewal? I’ll have to purchase some episodes to catch up, but don’t want to do it if it isn’t getting renewed, especially since it ended in a cliffhanger.

  5. Craig says:

It’s the fact that she is trying to get back to her husband and son without damaging the time line that is driving her so pairing her up with someone would weaken her charactor one ruin the show
