TV Icons Marion Ross and Ed Asner to Visit ABC Family's Chasing Life

Happy Days are ahead for Chasing Life.

Marion Ross, who famously played Mrs. C on the 1950s-set 1970s comedy, and fellow TV icon Ed Asner (The Mary Tyler Moore Show) have joined ABC Family’s cancer drama, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Ross and Asner will play April’s (Italia Ricci) grandparents, who end up causing trouble when they visit for the holidays.

Smash alum Andy Mientus also recently joined the freshman drama, which follows an aspiring journalist who discovers she has cancer.

Chasing Life airs Tuesdays at 9/8c.

    I was on the fence about tuning in for episode two, but now that Ed Asner is joining the cast, I’ll stick with it. It’s not a bad show, but it didn’t grab me the way I had hoped it would.

    It’s not terminal. They haven’t said it’s terminal, have they? That means death sentence.

      The show is an American remake/adaptation of a Mexican telenovela with the title Terminales, which is probably the reason some stories about Chasing Life mention that she has terminal cancer. I don’t think that is accurate at all.
