WGN America will drop a bomb on viewers when the historical drama Manhattan premieres in July — and we’ve got your first glimpse at the network’s newest scripted series.

Set in Los Alamos, N.M., in the 1940s, the period series follows the Manhattan Project — aka the mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb.

John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C) stars as Frank Winter, head of a scientific team recruited to work in secret to develop a weapon of unparalleled power.

  2. uk-usa-tvaddict says:

I am not sure that I will watch this as I am not that interested in the subject matter, but the production values and acting looks really good.

The quality of shows coming from non-traditional means makes me excited about the future of tv.

  3. LA says:

I still need cablevision in New York to get the WGN channel. Watching Salem on the internet is way too annoying!
