ABC’s broadcast of the NBA Finals Game 1 between the Heat and Spurs on Thursday night drew 14.9 million total viewers and a 6.0 demo rating (per finals), up 5 percent in each measure from last year’s series opener.
Opening ABC’s night, Jimmy Kimmel’s pre-game special did 3.9 mil and a 1.1, down a smidgen from its year-ago numbers.
NBC’s double-pump of Undateable — averaging 3 mil and a 1.0 — took the biggest hit opposite hoops, dropping 21 and 23 percent from its premiere night. Last Comic Standing (4.3 mil/1.4) in turn was off 9 and 12 percent. Opening NBC’s night, Hollywood Game Night (4 mil/1.1) dipped just a tenth.
Over on Fox, Hell’s Kitchen (4.8 mil/1.7) inched up a tenth while Gang Related (2.9 mil/0.8) slipped 6 and 20 percent.
