True Blood First Look: Check Out the Sookie-Centric Poster for Final Season

True Blood‘s endgame is nearly upon us, a fact HBO is making abundantly clear in the official poster for the vampire drama’s seventh and final season.

But what else could this poster be telling us? More specifically, why is Sookie — a noted non-vampire — crying bloody tears? The idea of Ms. Stackhouse joining the undead has been toyed with a few times during the series’ run, and as they say in Bon Temps, anything is possible. (They say that, right? If not, they definitely should.)

  1. Patrick Maloney says:

Hope they live up to that tag line and keep the story what made the first three seasons a gem, not that the last seasons haven’t been good, a southern drama that is inhabited by vampires and shapeshifters.

  2. nate says:

BLOODY TEAR?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??! will Sook finally get turned

  4. Jimmy says:

This series has certainly deviated from the source material quite a bit — and rarely in a good way, but I hope they don’t go this route. Seems like a cop-out for a character that has never wanted to be a vampire.

    • Geo says:

Considering how the book series ends, the more the show deviates from the books there, the better. Still I agree with you– Sookie should NOT become a vampire (too “Vampire Diaries”).

  5. CountryQueen says:

They better NOT make her a vampire!!!!

  6. Fernanda says:

that picture is very familiar with the spanish edition covers from Charlaine’s Books

  7. tvdiva says:

True Blood deviated from the books in the first season. We got Jason as a full-time character, Jessica, and Lafayette did not die as he did early in the book series. I would love to see Sookie as a half vampire half fae. That would definitely be an interesting ending. I hated the way the books ended.

  10. queenbrat says:

I want her to stay human. She has this long. And she’s a fae that’s supernatural enough.

  11. Eli says:

Omg she gets turned. I hope Eric is back n they stay together like in the book.

    • Libby Dines says:

Have you read the books? I don’t want to get all spoilery on ya, but the Eric thing you’re talking about doesn’t happen in the books! However…the show went way off from the books in a lot off ways, so maybe…

      • Lauralyn says:

I agree Libby. Eji read the books and if your like me by the end of the whole series there will be a dent the size of your books on a wall. Honestly I just want Sookie and Eric together. Its why I watch True Blood, in hopes that it will make my fangirlness happy, but since season 4 I’ve been bloody pissed off. HBO I know you like your fans, do us a favor and put us out of our misery and give us the happily ever after that stars Eric Northman and Sookie Stackhouse. That is all.

        • Sauva says:

It’s clear there’s going to be no more Sookie and Eric together so, if you like your fans HBO, please give us the Bill and Sookie reunion we’ve been waiting for since Sookie returned from the fae plane in season 4.

  12. Niejan says:

Finally she gets turned, the moment we all anticipated is almost here. ;)

  13. OMG!!!!! The final season I can’t miss!!!!

  14. That blood tear is cool. Could she have been turned? Did Eric burn? WAITING SUCKS!!!!
