Sneak Peek: Undateable Guy Makes a Clumsy -- and Frankly Scary! -- Play for Briga Heelan

My game might not be quite as awful as this guy’s, but having met Briga Heelan in person just last week, I do feel his pain.

On Thursday, May 29 at 9/8c, a new NBC comedy will illustrate the many ways a singleton can be Undateable, one of which is on display in this exclusive sneak peek.

Executive-produced by Bill Lawrence (Cougar Town), Adam Sztykiel (Due Date) and Jeff Ingold (Ground Floor), Undateable stars Chris D’Elia (Whitney) as Danny Burton, a confident 29-year-old who, though not the biggest prize himself, endeavors to help his new, overthinker of a roommate Justin (played by comedian Brent Morin) improve his dating life.

Case in point: In the clip below, Danny urges bar owner Justin to “go for it” with bartender Nicki (Ground Floor’s Heelan), and it’s alllll downhill from there.

Rounding out the cast are Ron Funches (Crash & Bernstein), Rick Glassman and Brit David Fynn (Big Bad World), as Danny’s hangers-on, while Bianca Kajlich (Rules of Engagement) plays his recently divorced older sister, Leslie.

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

Just awful. And that’s the BEST they could come up with for a clip that’s supposed to entice me to watch? I hope Briga didn’t give up her Ground Floor gig.

  2. Tran says:

    EPIC FAIL :-(

  3. Diz says:

Yea, unwatchable not undateable. This is horrid.

  4. ScrubsGuy says:

Surprised the Bill Lawrence would want to work with NBC again after Scrubs. Clearly, NBC put this on the burner. Guess he doesn’t command the same pull as Carter Bays et al., e.g. HIMYD w/ CBS.

    • Joe says:

You mean their pilot that wasn’t picked up? Wouldn’t exactly call that having pull with CBS…

      • ScrubsGuy says:

I should clarify that comment. I meant that Carter et al. was able to refuse reshooting the pilot even if it meant CBS would pass on it, whereas Lawrence probably had less say in whether or not he could refuse having his pilot sold to NBC.

while the show seems to have the same promotion issues scrubs had, airing it in the summer may turn out to be an advantage. Theres less competition so networks hopefully will allow the full number of filmed episodes to air giving the show a chance to grow

That was awful…which is a huge shame cause 1) I LOVE Briga Heelan…like omg shes amazing. Ground Floor is perfection and she brings SO much personality to that character…shes gonna be a star. and 2) I love Chris D’Elia ! He is HILARIOUS and his characters so funny, i thought he was hilarious on “Whitney”…i want him to finally get on a show thats a hit.

  6. jen says:

i know someone who went to a taping and thought the show was hilarious so i’m not going to judge it based on a less than 2 minute clip…however this clip is a pretty poor one

  7. Joey Padron says:

Previews for show looks good and funny. Looking forward to check out show next week.

  8. Singing_gal says:
