BET is staying in The Game, having renewed the sports-tinged relationship comedy for an eighth season.
The Game was famously cancelled after Season 3 by The CW, as the network bailed on comedy programming, but revived almost a year later by BET.

BET’s pick-ups also include Real Husbands of Hollywood Season 3, new episodes of 106 & Park and the previously announced Being Mary Jane Season 2.
Among BET’s new offerings, as unveiled at its Upfront presentation on Thursday:
* The Book of Negroes, a six-part historical miniseries based on the prize-winning novel by Lawrence Hill and starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Louis Gossett, Jr. and Aunjanue Ellis.
* The Hot Chocolate Nutcracker, a Debbie Allen-produced TV-movie spin on the holiday classic, starring Raven-Symone and Tichina Arnold.
* The Start-Up, a scripted series starring hip-hop artist Diggy Simmons as the founder of an entertainment and lifestyle blog. The cast also includes Teyana Taylor, Bria Murphy, Allen Maldonado, Chris Brew, and Stephanie Charles.
* Gone Gospel, a reality series in which non-gospel musicians share a house and work with songwriters, producers and life coaches to rebuild their careers.
