CBS has announced its Thursday Night Football schedule for the 2014 season, and all told the network will air NFL games on seven Thursdays, starting in mid-September and largely ending in late October. (An additional game in the package will air on Saturday, Dec. 20.)
All Thursday games will begin at 8:25/7:25c.
What does this mean for Thursday evening fare like The Big Bang Theory and Elementary? In a conference call with reporters in February, CBS CEO Les Moonves said the network would not wait to launch the series’ fall seasons. Rather, Moonves indicated Big Bang and Elementary likely would open their seasons on another night and return to their regular Thursday time slots after the games were done — which appears to be just in time for November sweeps (which this year start Oct. 30).
