After much speculation, the network announced last week that the Colbert Report host will take over Late Show duties when Letterman retires sometime in 2015.

There’s no word yet on what the late-night vets might have planned (a literal torch-passing, perhaps?), so head down to the comments section and tell us what you’d like to see.

  1. Tom Charles says:

It doesn’t matter really, the bigger question is who replaces Colbert? That could have been great for John Oliver. Maybe give one of the women a shot? Or Al Madrigal or Aasif Mandvi maybe?

    • Angela says:

I’m curious what they’ll do with that time slot, too. I like your choices-I’d check out a show with any of them.
I imagine Stephen and Letterman will probably just chat next week like they have whenever he’s been on there before…but I could see a funny gift exchange or something as well, a “passing of the torch” moment of some kind, too.

    • Maggie says:

I would like to see a fake Crossfire-type show with Sam Bee and Jason Jones replace The Colbert Report. Or a take on a Fox and Friends-type show. All of the hosts would have to be in character, of course, like Colbert did on his show.

  2. Undeniably believe that which you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to
be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware
of. I say to you, I definitely get annoyed while people
think about worries that they just don’t know about.
You managed to hit the nail upon the top
and also defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could
take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks

  3. Maggie says:

I think it would be funny if Stephen and Dave completely ignore that Stephen is taking over the show. Or Stephen could start interviewing staff members to see if they want to work for him.

  4. Superb site you have here but I was wondering if you knew
