Watch: Josh Charles Revives His Fan-Favorite Character During Live Olbermann Broadcast

While fans of The Good Wife are still processing last week’s shocking twist, the former Will Gardner helped soften the blow by reprising another fondly remembered character on live TV this weekend.

Stepping back into the role of Dan Rydell from Aaron Sorkin’s Sports Night, which ran on ABC from 1998 to 2000, Josh Charles co-anchored part of Keith Olbermann‘s EPSPN2 show Olbermann on Friday night.

“I thought you were dead,” Olbermann quipped after running through the news, to which Charles sharply replied, “Apparently not.”

Huh? I’m pretty sure tonight marks Josh Charles’ ACTUAL last episode Will Gardner on TGW because the previews clearly show what happened him during the shootout.

Sports Night Reunion movie! Make it happen people!

  9. Andrew says:

It’s particularly funny when you realize that Aaron Sorkin has confirmed that “Dan Rydell” was supposed to be a version of Keith Olbermann from when he was on SportsCenter. So it’s basically two Olbermanns going at it.

I loved Josh on Sports Night. Bring back Dan, Casey, Dana, and the gang. The show was ahead of its time or it would have run a few more years…. Though I am likely in the minority on this, Sports Night and was pretty much the last time I enjoyed an Aaron Sorkin series fully…

  19. Bob Smith says:

Would have been much better if Peter Krause was there instead of Old Ben,er…Olbermann.

  20. NJMark says:

    Eli’s coming.
