ABC Announces Bachelor Spin-Off Bachelor in Paradise Premiering This Summer

Bachelor Spin-OffRoses will be in full bloom this summer on ABC.

The network announced Friday that a Bachelor spin-off, Bachelor in Paradise, will feature rejected contestants from the franchise getting a second chance at love. The six-episode series is set to premiere May 19 at 9/8c.

Paradise‘s concept is simple: Contestants will live together on a romantic island, and over the course of six weeks, viewers will get to see whether or not sparks fly.

Naturally, Chris Harrison will serve as host.

Will you be visiting Paradise this summer? Which former Bachelor/Bachelorette contestants do you hope to see return? Drop a comment with your thoughts (and fears) below.

  2. wrstlgirl says:

  3. steven says:

    Will this franchise EVER end?

  5. Asta says:

I personally thought bachelor pad was the best of the franchise. Loved that Holly Becker and her dentist who met on that show. So cute.

  6. Me says:

For the love of all that is holy, WHY? Don’t we have enought tv filled with vapid people looking for their 15mins of fame?!?!?

  7. Boiler says:

Well that is really too bad. Awful.

  8. Ram510 says:

Oh no this could be bad for Mistresses if this has to be it’s lead in and it tanks.

  9. Aaron Smith says:

This is ridiculous….will this brain dead so called “reality” train ever end?

  10. abz says:

It’s so annoying how many good and decent shows out there like White Collar, Psych, etc., are ending and other shows with potential are cancelled so early (anyone remember GCB?) while this crap continues everywhere.

    • Esaul says:

While I agree with your point, on a technical note for the sake and context of this conversation White Collar and Psych have no affiliation with ABC. And I was never a fan of GCB (from a pilot only standpoint)

      • abz says:

Oh yes I know that. My mistake. I meant in a general sense of good shows ending and more dumb reality shows being made. Even USA network is green-lighting more reality TV shows.
I try not to judge shows based on pilots alone and give it a few episodes to pull me in. I thought GCB was funny with a great cast and that it was pulled too soon.

    • Jellymoff says:

As long as these shows are cheap to produce and have halfway decent ratings they will keep making them. If people stop watching, they will cancel it. Unfortunately people watch it.

  11. Kill this godawful franchise! It’s the bain of my existence!!!

    • Kemp says:

Haha nice spelling of ‘bane.’ Unless you mean ‘bain,’ the French word for bath. ;)
IMO, this show sounds fun. A nice way to relax with friends on a sticky summer day.

  12. troll says:

So sad and embarrassing! What an awful and weak world we live in. I wonder if that “Noah” movie is a sign of what’s to come. I know, “too far” but you have to admit, there’s more bad news than good news reported these days.

  13. gyllenhaalic15 says:

Yea…I’ll stick with are you the one thank you very much

  14. Linda says:

Where are they finding people who will watch this crap?? I am so sick of these shows!!
