Recent Sleepy Hollow resident John Cho has landed the male lead on ABC’s Selfie, thus completing series regular casting on the comedy pilot.
Penned by Suburgatory creator Emily Kapnek, this My Fair Lady-inspired single-camera comedy follows a self-obsessed 20-something woman (played by Doctor Who‘s Karen Gillan) who is more concerned with “likes” than being liked. After suffering a very public and humiliating breakup, she becomes the subject of a viral video and suddenly has more social media “followers” than she ever imagined — but for all the wrong reasons. She then enlists the help of a marketing expert at her company to help repair her tarnished image.
Cho will play the aforementioned spin doctor, Henry, who is described as self-assured and successful.
The cast also includes David Harewood (Homeland), Allyn Rachel (Weeds), Tim Peper (Carpoolers) and Tony Award nominee Da’Vine Joy Randolph.
Cho’s credits include TV’s Go On and FlashForward, plus the Star Trek and Harold & Kumar film franchises.
