I don’t really think he fits in with the MTV audience.

    • Have you seen the people attending tapings of Conan? The majority of them are around college age. Sure, MTV skews more towards a teen audience, but there’s definitely some overlap. Come on, he’s not Leno.

i can’t help but agree. :-\ i enjoy Conan but this might very well be a train wreck ratings-wise.

I think it’s a perfect fit. The teen audience that watch MTV won’t always stay in that demographic. Eventually they’ll migrate toward the 18-49 demographic. Conan appeals the most out of late night to the younger audience. The teens that watch this might not know Conan’s name. This introduces them to his style of comedy and eventually to his show. They’ll move toward the 18-49 demographic eventually which means their viewership helps. It works for both parties.

      • I was 14 years old when Conan debuted and have been a fan ever since. Not that it’s entirely highbrow stuff, they have had a farting hot dog man, a robot pimp and a puppet dog that insults people. But I like to think that stuff is universal.

Ahhhh, i think this is a fantastic idea! Conan is SO FUNNY.
