Tracee Ellis Ross Anthony Anderson Pilot NBCAnd in today’s second bit of TV news involving the word “girlfriends”Girlfriends alum Tracee Ellis Ross has joined the cast of Anthony Anderson’s ABC pilot, formerly known as Black-ish.

Ross will play Anderson’s wife in the half-hour, single-camera comedy, our sister site Deadline reports.

The potential series, written by Kenya Barris (The Game), follows an upper-middle class black man struggling to raise his children with a sense of cultural identity despite constant contradictions and obstacles coming from his liberal wife, old-school father (Hannibal‘s Laurence Fishburne) and his own assimilated, color-blind kids.

Ross’ recent TV gigs include roles on Private Practice and CSI.

  • I love Anthony Anderson and Ross is funny…I just hope that they have chemistry and the show gets picked up!!
