Spencer will play the role of Nurse Jackson, described as an excellent, intuitive nurse who doesn’t put up with any crap from anyone. Nurse Jackson keeps her emotions hidden on the job, believing that anything she feels is nothing compared to the pain of her young patients. But despite her tough shell, she is profoundly sympathetic to the kids on her ward.

Margaret Nagle (Boardwalk Empire), Justin Falvey, Darryl Frank and Sergio Aguero serve as exec-producers with Spielberg (Falling Skies, Under the Dome).

Spencer recently guest-starred on the CBS sitcom Mom and in the film Fruitvale Station. Her TV credits also include 30 Rock, Raising the Bar and Ugly Betty.

    • I’m guessing the original format is Spanish, as is the author of the book that wrote about his personal experience dealing with cancer. An Italian version is currently airing as well, starting this very Sunday actually. This story is very much in demand right now.

  • NBC’s loss is Fox’s gain…but I’d rather see her as the lead in something.
