Pilot Scoop: 30 Rock's Jane Krakowski Lands Killer Role in Fox Comedy Dead Boss

Jane Krakowski Dead Boss30 Rock‘s Jane “Rural Juror” Krakowski is eyeing a sitcom comeback, singing on to star in Fox’s comedy pilot Dead Boss, TVLine has learned.

Written and exec-produced by Patricia Breen (Big Love) and based on the UK series of the same name, the half-hour, single-camera project finds overachiever Helen Stephens wrongfully convicted of murdering her boss and forced to rely on her train wreck of a sister to prove her innocence.

Krakowski will play the ambitious, driven, career-focused Helen. Innocent of the crime and with work piling up on her desk, she is stunned by the guilty verdict — but remains optimistic that the whole mess will be straightened out shortly.

This would mark Krakowski’s first full-time TV return since 30 Rock ended last year. Last month, she guest-starred on Modern Family as a rival to Sofia Vergara’s Gloria.

Interesting. I tried to picture who could fit well into the role and while she wasn’t on my list, I’m happy because she’s a real comedic talent.

  2. Mafalda Neto says:

She’s awesome, I’ll definetely check it out and wish her much luck on this project!

  3. Joe says:

How is this show supposed to last more than 6 eps?

  4. queerbec says:

I’m so glad to learn that Jane apparently hummed her agreement to star with the powers that be. Maybe that was to remind the show runner that her voice is still in tip-top shape! I hope that the contract singing will not be her last musical number for the show!

  5. Maurice Moss says:

The British version was this comedy was dreadful. Not sure why you want to remake a turd, especially because it’s a rarity to remake a good English show. Don’t forget how FOX remade the amazing Gavin and Stacey as a bit tamer, than cancelled it without airing and making 7 episodes.
