Ratings: Olympics Opening Ceremony Down Vs. 2010, Enlisted Dips Just a Bit, Fallon's New High
NBC’s coverage of the Winter Olympics‘ opening ceremony in Sochi on Friday night drew an 18.5/30 overnight rating in metered-market households, our sister site Deadline reports, down 8 percent from Vancouver 2010 but up sharply from Torino 2006.
From 8 to 11 pm, the event averaged 31.7 million total viewers and an 8.6 demo rating.
Going up against the Olympics celebration, Fox’s Enlisted (1.8 mil/0.7) fell 30 percent in viewers yet only ticked down one tenth in the demo, while Raising Hope (1.7 mil/0.6) dipped 8 percent in audience but held steady in the demo.
Turning to late night: Jimmy Fallon‘s final Late Night set a franchise record in metered-market households, averaging a 4.8 rating, 13 share in households — more than tripling the show’s season average.
