Not only does AMC’s new unscripted arm-wrestling drama (which premieres Feb. 25 at 10/9c) hold out the promise of more bulging veins than a new Hulk movie, but, as this clip suggests, it might also raise the bar on smack talk.

  1. Stormy says:

Oh, good. Something for cretins to watch. They can put all of the Viagra, condom and men’s deodorant commercials on there.

  2. What an incredibly stupid idea for a tv show! Whoever made this happen needs to be punched in the neck. Repeatedly. Until it’s canceled. Then he (it had to be a guy) needs to be banned from television forever.

    • Jonathan Quinn says:

      You mad bro?

      • Dale Hicks says:

this was hard to watch without hitting the delete button. no it wasnt. i feel bad for people who would like this crap. who is the director of this disaster?

    • Carolyn Liebel Pyle says:

Some of us, me included, participated in this sport and would of loved for it to get the exposure this show is going to give it. We might of actually been able to make some money at our passion. Don’t knock something just because it is not your “sport”. Give it a break. You can always turn the channel. As for me, a former World and National Champion…I can’t WAIT!!!

      • M.e. says:

Sport? Lol. There is no athletic ability in pushing your arm forward.

      • Unimpressed viewer says:

… might *have … Anyhow, I certainly won’t knock the sport of arm-wrestling, but I will certainly knock this show and its portrayal of arm wrestling. I hope that’s not how it actually goes down at least. Do you guys really arm wrestle in front of a “crowd” of 20 (half of them being the team and their relatives) in shady abandoned buildings with refs worse than last year’s temporary NFL officials? The “drama” they’re going for is lost complete on me as a contrivance.

      • Das says:

I agree with you brother. Dont hate something unless u tried. Arm wrestling is just like any other sport, you have to train hard to compete. For all the people talking smack, just dont watch it, simple as that. Atleast this is actually reality not like those other fake shows that people watch.

    • ernie says:

you’re just saying that because you’ve either never arm wrestled anyone, or you’ve lost EVERY ARM WRESTLING match you’ve ever had

    • John Bergstrom says:

      doush bag

  3. Jocelyn says:

Love It, Cant wait, these guy are world famous in Armwrestling community, and they can make a lot more money than u. The big even in Vegas from UAL, PAL, ARMWAR is working well, If u don’t like it don’t watch it. If not enough audience it will be cancel, only time will tell.

  4. sam thomas says:

this is horrible tv what a joke
please cancel this before it comes out
what a serious joke who wants to even see this garbage

  5. Cheryl French says:

i wouldnt watch this if i was paid

  6. Morgan Baker says:

the moron said he was gonna go embaress someone jn front of their own son? What a classy dirtbag
its amazing what they will let on tv. i bet these white trash no goods actually think they are famous

    • mary anne says:

I would like to see you go up against him anyday. White trash?? Dirtbag?? Yes they are going to be famous because you people keep talking. Thats exactly what they want and you are too stupid to realize it!!!! You have just made people more curious to watch. Thank you. You did a great job, dirtbag!!!

    • big al says:

white trash oh for got black trash or may be u r white trash thats why just pick on the white ones that way u wont be a racist side walk sissy

  7. Stacy says:

All negative comments above are posted by Honey Boo Boo fans!

  8. Ethan Ramirez says:

steroids are illegal and all of thrm should be tested amc will be sued by everyone for not testing all these drug users

  9. Bruce Steen says:

this is really a show? pretty sad
i lost alot of respect for amc this is garbage

  10. Casey Rollins says:

    this looks pretty dumb.

  11. Justin Harkness says:

that was painful to watch. what a ridiculous idea for a show. a bunch of red neck imbreds making dust. amc is a joke now

  12. Alan says:

    This look awesome!!!

    • ernie says:

I agree with you! don’t see enough of the sport on tv, and to all of those who say this is a ridiculous idea for a show: If it is so a ridiculous show, why is the sport so popular WORLDWIDE? Could it be you? I think so. like everyone else has said, if you don’t like what you see on TV, turn the channel and watch something else. As for me, I plan to DVR the program, EVERY EPISODE. Maybe I’ll learn something

      • Joe Dutton says:

I’ll be tuning in for sure! Armwrestling is an awesome sport.

        • Jon says:

ArmWrestling is NOT A SPORT, bearing your arm down on another persons arm to an audience of (most likely) steriod-raging idiots, is this what television is nowadays? Has it really gotten to a point where we are trying to find entertainment value by filming people arm wrestling? Im not attacking you people who DO happen to like this show, I just think this show is dumbing down audiences and is an abomination to TV just like Honey Boo Boo.

  13. jose says:

    this looks lame

  14. jeff says:

i will make sure not to tune into this garbage

  15. doug says:

maybe they could arm wrestle tiger to make a show
    not a good show thought

  16. erin says:

they officially have a reality show for everything. when will this end
this just shows they will put anything on tv

  17. kurt says:

is this a spin off of trailer park wars?

  18. Kevin says:

this looks like a future cancelled show

  19. Adam says:

this is a great idea… abcs wide world of sports used to show arm wrestling when i was a kid, and it was its highest rated segment for 20 years!!! granted its not for everyone but who thought deadliest catch or duck dynasty would be hits? i think people will fall in love with these guys when they see they are just real people like you or me

  20. Erik says:

To the person who called these guys a bunch of white trash take a good look at cobra roads he is the black guy arm wrestling in this show and by no means white trash matter of a fact i would like to see you grow enough balls to call him out and pull against him just saying before you open your mouth about people do your home work buddy .

  21. Tommy Wilson says:

A lot of negative replies here? I think these people that are so neg. about this KNOW NOTHING about it. I have been arm wrestling for about 28 years and know almost every1 in this show. It’s sad that so many are so ignorant. I have met All of my best friends thru this sport ,and the sport is more of a HUGE family more than just friends. I hope everyone that knows nothing about The Arm Wrestling world will still give the show a chance. Tommy Wilson.

    • Carolyn Liebel Pyle says:

Thanks Tommy. I feel the same way. i arm wrestled from 1983 until 1991 and still call these folks my family. I miss the arm wrestling crowd and the fun that we always had.

  22. Deezer McGee says:

    I’m watching.

  23. Steve says:

Please take the time to research this sport before you judge the people and this sport. I have been I. This sport for 21 years. Our National event is like a family reunion every year. Trailer park trash, I think not I am an Engineer for a tier one automotive supplier and make pretty good living. Do your research people thank you.

  24. joel says:

See a lot of negative comments from people who have no idea what they are talking about. These are real people with a passion for a sport that really is quite technical and takes a lot of strength . You have to be mentally strong with the ability to adapt per different opponent . Maybe people shouldn’t judge so quickly when they have no idea what’s actually happening. The trash talking is for the show because the network wants them to do it.

  25. Trevor sly says:

If ignorance is bliss all these remedial degenerates throwing out negativity must be in “heaven”. I’ve been arm wrestling for about 6yrs now and luv it more than any other sport I’ve participated in. As a comrade of mine above said (Tommy) this sport is way, more like a brother hood than just a non main stream sport. I would dare any critic to give it a shot and see how long u can hang. This sport has been, around for centuries and will continue with or without this show. But give it a chance these are good intelligent intellectual morally upstanding everyday ppl!

  26. Joshua says:

Bunch of negative jerks out there who know nothing about armwrestling!!!! Yes steroids are in armwrestling, they are in how many other sports?? Majority of the armwrestling world is clean, steroids are for those who can’t make it on sweat & pain…this sport is most of the peoples passion & love, more goes into what you see in these clips as you all will see when it aires!!! If you have nothing nice to say, then do us all a favor who actually care about armwrestling a favor & shut up. I bet half of the clowns who left a negative response couldn’t even beat some of the women who compete!!!! That’s real & I would bet money on that. As a 25+ year veteran of armwrestling, I cannot wait for this show to air, change the channel if it doesn’t appeal to you, this is not for everyone…

  27. John Schnell says:

What you saw in the commercial without even knowing it; a teacher, a laborer, a salesman, a chef, an engineer, a police officer and multiple business owners. Lot of successful men, but more, lots of family men in those commercials.

Those guys are spending their weekends like so many others you know; yardwork, volunteering, coaching, and when they get time practicing. Do you call your neighbor “white trash”?

Like many have said, the sport is a huge family. When you insult the men in the commercial, it is like you are insulting people in my family. You have no idea about any of these men, you should watch the show…you’ll probably be surprised how familiar they are.

    • Lisa says:

Amen brother ! my husband BB, is a 25 year vet in the sport and he is a wonderful father!
      Yes, competitive, so what!
” I agree with Tommy Wilson’s comments” “sport is more of a HUGE family more than just friends”
I have met the nicest people in this sport ever!
      Lisa W-B

  28. Chase says:

looks like a bunch of inbred’s acting like fools
i bet everyone of these lowns have chosen their own life over their own families and kids. pathetic. i knew an armwrestler who gave up his whole family for this ridiculous wanna be sport.
he was high on steroids the whole time. now after 20 years he is clean and a good citizen. he wished he never got into that family you morons speak of.
this is a cult and a really pathetic idea for a show. this rates right along the lines of
honey boo boo and the other white trash shows that are on.

  29. Stacy says:

Wow Chase that’s a pretty strong comment based on “knowing a person” because I know lots of people in this sport and if anything they bring their families along. These guys (that we know and deal with) all work and many have college degrees (which you will not find on honey boo boo) some have wives, some have children and some don’t but they can all come together at the table. They have even built kids tables so that the kids can participate and after the matches everyone shakes hands and moves on. Sure there is smack talking but that happens everywhere and could be in good fun at times. I challenge you to find a group of these guys and hang out with them, I’m sure you will have a change of heart. And your I know a guy well we all know a guy/girl who made a bad choice and had that bad choice amplified by drugs or alcohol but that’s not what happens for everyone and you know it. And as far as saying its a cult, cults take weak minds to join and all the people in this sport I know have strong willed minds for dedication and hard work. No room for followers in this sport so I would say that this person you know just has a predisposition for weakness which is why he left his family, which is why he did drugs and is ultimately the reason he did not make it in arm wrestling. So good luck to all the guys on GOA and my hubby Jason who is the best looking ref on the show and may all the haters do what they do best hate and change the channel!

    • Carolyn Liebel Pyle says:

Stacy, I love your reply. I don’t understand how people make judgements without knowing facts or even the circumstances that go along with a subject. I have a family of “arm wrestling” friends that I have met over the years. There are none better. I will defend this sport with my dying breath. Probably one of the best things that ever happened to me. I can’t wait to watch the show.

  30. tessa says:

Great to see amc supporting a man that assaulted and elderly man and is now being sued for it. I’m sure that won’t be anywhere in the show though.

    • Stacy says:

Who would that be? We should have the name to lookup and verify this information. Other than that it’s just an empty claim.

  31. Shotgun Stark says:

Too many people come on here to blast AMC for getting the ball rollingbon this. If any of the negative response people actually took the time to meet some of the armwrestling community, they would change their minds. We take this very serious, as do any other athlete would feel about their sport. If you have nothing nice to stay, go back to your boring life & critique something else… Anxiously awaiting the show to air!!

  32. TeamEdwardJace says:

this seems vacuous and dull. really amc? you have some great shows but really?

    • Stacy says:

Dear TeamEdwardJace I’m sure you will find this show vacuous and dull since there are no vampires or 1/2 angles involved. It’s no Twilight or Mortal Instruments but it’s REAL so I’m sure your type would have issues with it. So go back to watching Grim and Once upon a time and you will be ok. :)

    • Joe Dutton says:

I competed for 20 years in this sport and believe me it’s anything but dull my friend. Most people who give it a try never stop because of the comradery found in the sport. You’ll never find a better group of people. In all my years on the circuit I never witnessed a punch thrown, only great competition and friends. Retired in 2005 due to an injury or I’d still be at it.

  33. Rob humphries says:

cant wait for the show, iv e been waiting a month for it to be on. Half of you retarded negative people have no idea what ur even talking bout nor how stupid you look talking it.

  34. ron says:

Three words…..Over the Top……they should have Stallone make a guest appearence!

  35. Pt says:

Such a stupid idea for a show. Being a good arm wrestler doesn’t make you a tough guy. It means you probably juice and hit the gym and practise this “sport”. It is the douchebag juicers from high school that always got beat up because they went looking for fights.

    • Stacy says:

That is such a stupid assumption that I can’t even come up with a reply, maybe you should stick to sports where steroids are not allowed such as baseball lol! Oh right there are steroids everywhere so your point is invalid. Plus my husband is on the Baton Rouge team and has never done steroids, neither have most of the other guys that I am aware of (I saw most because I am never so stupid as to say all in anything), so please watch the show before you let your stupidity shine on a public forum. Thanks!

  36. M.e. says:

All of you calling this a sport. Arm wrestling is not a sport. It takes no athletic ability to do bicep curls and then push your arm forward harder than someone else. Anyone can arm wrestle if you lift enough.

    • Stacy says:

Ok! Your stupid is showing. 1st you don’t push it forward, you push it to the side and since you can’t even watch this without screwing up how to do it then it’s prob best you don’t participate in this SPORT! And if you would ever like to prove your theory that anyone can do it reply back to this post and I’ll give you my number then I’ll find the nearest group of armwrestlers to you and after they educate you on how wrong you are you can apologize. 😊

    • Carolyn Liebel Pyle says:

I don’t believe you!. If you don’t even know the terms used in this SPORT then you don’t qualify to make stupid comments about it. I was an arm wrestler for 9 years. a good one, too. It is a sport, and one that is filled with families and fans that LOVE IT. I wish I could show you how to “push my arm”. It is not the brawn alone, it takes brains, techniques, and just “how bad you want it”, to succeed.

  37. Aaron weeks says:

I watched the first show and… The guys were lifting there elbow off the table moving there elbows. There be less cheat If they do it laying down on the ground. I am not impressed. There is gambling in this sport. It might be rigged. The fat drunk guy on the show admitted to letting his dad win in a tournament

    • Joe Dutton says:

Well Aaron I’ll have to disagree.. I thought the show was very intertaining for all, not only armwrestlers but anyone. They’ve added some extra drama to the whole situation for entertainment value but those matches were real. You’re allowed to move your elbow anywhere on the pad as long as it doesn’t raise up and sometimes if no advantage is gained refs will even let that slide. You can also move around all you want as long as one foot remains on the floor. Standing adds many more usable techniques than just shoving with your arm. It would be like like boxers laying on the ground punching each other without being able to move around. (Not much to watch) There used to be seated tournaments that did limit movement but they are rare these days.

    • jes says:

I am sure that it is not the only sport that it rigged though…

  38. Ricky says:

Arm wrestling is not a sport! Its something people do drunk at a party. Its nothing more than a dick measuring contest. Wrestling is a sport (not WWE). why not use your whole body, not just your arm?

    • Stacy says:

Well Ricky then your dick must be as small as your brain!
Armwrestling IS a sport and was on NBC’s wide world of sports for many years. While it may not be as popular here as in the European countries it’s still a sport. Saying that it’s only something drunk guys do is like saying that all the NFL players are dog fighters and all singers make videos of themselves with underage teens – it’s false and it’s ignorant! If you don’t like it, change the channel because I’m sure you can find your local olympic curling team in action somewhere. These guys and gals work very hard all year long to compete in arm wrestling which you say is “just your arm”, yes it is and know that isolating a muscle is a hell of a lot harder than using your whole body. So I invite you to any local competition where I’m sure the guys would kick your ass even if you used your whole body!
      Go Baton Rouge Roughnecks!

  39. Jack. Wynn says:

I am Jack. Wynn….I was on wild world of sports competing at that level. Mind body the whole body. Is involved. It is a genuine stars. The sport just never got a fair handshake. promoters extorted the sport

    from the beginning

  40. Legend says:

I have a friend who competes in this sport and the matches are never structured like this show. They portray these guys as idiots on the show for more drama. This show does not help the sport it makes takes away from it. Because my wife has never been to a match with us but, she said she’ll never go if it is like this show. So the bottom line, the show is nothing like a real arm wrestling match.

    • Stacy says:

The matches on the show are Supermatches while at the tourneys they are weight based matches and it’s a show of course they are not the same. And I hate to say it but if your wife has not attended a tourney by now then she has never planned too. This may just be a way for her to get out of going. And why would she base not going to a match on a TV show in the 1st place, that’s like saying I’m not going to Georgia because Honey Boo Boo is there and therefore everyone must act like them.
It’s a show people, if you want an actual tourney then go to a tourney or watch them on armtv.com
