Ratings: Grammy Awards on Par With Last Year

Ratings 56th Grammy AwardsCBS’ broadcast of the 56th annual Grammy Awards on Sunday night drew 28.5 million total viewers — up a tick from last year, marking the show’s second-largest audience in 21 years (trailing only 2012’s ersatz Whitney Houston tribute) — and a 9.9 demo rating, dipping two tenths versus 2013.

  1. Douglas from Brazil says:

Grammys were horrible but the final performance was a worth watching but cut off by Kanye,ops,CBS.2013 was the worst year in music history, nothing to celebrate here.

  2. Bob says:

I for one normally watch but when they announced they were trying to shove Gay Marriage down our throats decided to pass.

  3. Jason says:

Metallica playing One was epic… Still not sure about the piano, but the fact that they went ‘old school’ was awesome.

  4. Kim R says:

    I miss music….(yes I’m old). :D

  5. Larry says:

That lead singer of Imagine Dragons is too white! Isn’t there any sun in Vegas?

  6. Mekisha Hale says:

After watching the pre-grammys telecast before they aired the live broadcast which when it got to the live broadcast it was horrible also. I thought like the comment below very near the last performance with Daft Punk,Pharrell WIlliams,Nile Rogers, with special guest Stevie Wonder. That was terrific and just the most interesting show last night on The Grammys.
But as for the show it was a horrible and terrible show altogether.

  7. Josh says:

They needed a better host than LL Cool J. Jamie Foxx was also embarrassing.

  8. Daniel says:

The best moment was when Queen Latifah married 30 gay & straight couples, so Beautiful. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis should’ve won Best Song and Best Album (Daft Punk, Really?????) Dan Reynolds looked so Hot!!!!!

  9. Ali says:

I just can’t watch the Grammys any more. The music, behavior, dress, posing, posturing, sound quality, politics…all of it is just so bad. It’s truly sad how we’ve fallen and what we accept and promote as “entertainment.”

Until reading a post above me in this thread I wasn’t even aware that Metallica was there. They probably classed the place up a bit and showed all the lip syncing idiots how it’s done. As for the marriage hoopla, who cares. It was all a publicity stunt and meant nothing. It just made half the people in America happy and the other half angry, so again, it meant nothing. I’m so glad the DVR was invented. I ended up watching Christina RIcci in a new movie about Lizzie Borden. That was much better IMO.
