Blue Bloods Carey LowellErstwhile Law & Order ADA Carey Lowell has copped a role on CBS’ Blue Bloods, where she will lock horns with no less than NYPD commish Frank Reagan.

TVLine has learned that the onetime Bond Woman will guest-star in a spring episode as Joyce, a “Tiger Mom” described as “a beautiful iron fist in a velvet glove.” When Frank (Tom Selleck) is cornered into co-chaperoning grandson Sean’s class field trip with Joyce, the two will clash over matters great and small while touring the American Museum of Natural History.

In addition to her run as L&O‘s Jamie Ross (whom she also played on the Trial By Jury offshoot), Lowell’s TV credits include Six Degrees (wow, remember that cast?) and CBS’ short-lived A League of Their Own sitcom.

Blue Bloods resumes Season 4 this Friday at 10/9c.
