What to Watch Thursday: Community Is Tested, Ground Floor Finale, Under the Gunn and More

8 pm Critics’ Choice Movie Awards (The CW) | The Talk‘s Aisha Tyler hosts this live ceremony honoring the best in film from 2013. (Lets hope this awards show gives winners a shorter path to the the stage.)

8 pm American Idol (Fox) | Round 2 of auditions continue in Austin, Texas. (Check out Michael Slezak’s Night 1 recap, read about the show’s new twist.)

8 pm Community (NBC) | R.I.P. Pierce Hawthorne — yet before his study buddies can receive anything from their old classmate’s will, they must take lie detector tests administered by the cranky Mr. Stone (Justified‘s Walton Goggins). A terrific “bottle episode” in which, at one point, all sorts of secrets fly!

8:30 pm Parks and Recreation (NBC) | Leslie starts anew while Ben finds himself the victim of a prank thanks to Donna, April and Andy.

9 pm Under the Gunn (Lifetime) | Series premiere: In this 90-minute opener, host Tim Gunn finds 15 hopeful designers all competing for the attention of mentors (and former Runway stars) Mondo Guerra, Anya Ayoung-Chee and Nick Verreos. (Think Project Runway meets The Voice.)

9 pm The Price of Gold (ESPN) | Hide yer crowbars! The sports channel’s 30 for 30 series delves into the 1994 scandal involving Olympic ice skaters Tonya Harding and Nancy Kerrigan.

9 pm Sean Saves the World (NBC) | Sean tries to stop Max from going into business with a con artist (played by James Patrick Stuart, Andy Richter Controls the Universe.)

10 pm Ground Floor (TBS) | Season 1 finale: Struggling to make a decision between his dream job and his feelings for Jenny, Brody tries to come up with a third option.

10 pm The Spoils of Babylon (IFC) | An angry Cynthia seeks revenge after Devon and Lady Anne fall in love. 

NEXT THURSDAY: The Vampire Diaries and Reign return, Fox’s Rake premieres and King of the Nerds kicks off its second season.

  • Unfortunately, tonight will be a dud for me, due to the fact that all the CBS shows are reruns, also still waiting for Grey’s to start up, The only two shows for me tonight will be Parenthood & White Collar.
