Ratings: Cowboys/Eagles Dominates Sunday, Kennedy Center Honors Falls to Low

Ratings_Cowboys_EaglesNBC Sunday Night Football‘s coverage of the “win-and-in” divisional showdown between the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles was watched by 23.9 million total viewers, while scoring an 8.1 demo rating, per preliminary numbers.

That marks gains of nearly 50 percent versus the fast nats for last Sunday’s Bears/Eagles match-up.

Elsewhere on the night, CBS’ coverage of the Kennedy Center Honors drew 7.1 mil and a 0.9, down 8 and 36 percent from last year’s Wednesday telecast and hitting an all-time low demo rating.

NEXT SUNDAY: Downton Abbey Season 4 premieres, while Revenge, The Good Wife, The Mentalist and Betrayal resume their seasons.

  • Having watched Kyle Orton play in Denver, he is what we thought he is. He can get you lots of yards but he can’t get you over the hump. Sorry Cowboys fans.

  • Didn’t the Kennedy Center Honors usually air before Christmas? I completely forgot about them and only caught the last 2 honorees after seeing a friend’s post.

  • I generally love watching the Kennedy Center Honors show but last night’s installment was pretty disappointing…and not because of the honorees, they, as always, are legends and deserved to be honored.

  • The Cowboys always deliver the ratings. I even thought for the briefest of moments that Orton might take us to the promised land. But then defeat was snatached from the jaws of victory as usual. Sigh.
