Pilot News: Bunheads' Sutton Foster to Fudge the Numbers in TV Land Comedy Younger

Psych Cast Sutton FosterA bunhead is back.

Bunheads (and Broadway) star Sutton Foster has signed on to star in Younger, a TV Land pilot from Darren Starr.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Foster will play a single mother in her early 40s whose stalled publishing career is revitalized when she lies and passes herself off as a 20-something.

Starr (Sex and the City, Melrose Place) will write and executive-produce the single-camera project.

In addition to her ill-fated ABC Family dramedy, Foster’s recent credits include Royal Pains and SVU. She’ll also play a middle-school teacher in Psych‘s upcoming Season 8 finale.

    Miss Bunheads…

  2. I love her but this show description sounds awful.

  3. DavidSask says:

Highly unoriginal shocker, however TVLand gives shows a longer time to catch on, so good luck. Second why is this actress always playing roles where she has to play goofy way younger than she is?

    • rowan77 says:

In Bunheads she didn’t play way younger. She was 36 when the show started and she played 32. That hardly falls under the heading of “much younger.” And she plays comedy very well. Michelle in Bunheads was a goofball at times because that’s the type of lead Amy Sheridan-Pallidino likes to write. Someone with her sense of humor. There has been nothing written so far about the show “Younger” that says she will be goofy in this show too.

Love her. Miss her. Glad she will be back on TV.

I wasn’t familiar with her work before Bunheads. She has a great sense of comic timing, so I am happy for her. I have yet to watch anything on TV Land, but might check this out just for Sutton Foster.

  6. dude says:

Sutton Foster? 20-something? Even 29 seems like a stretch.

  7. Quinn Mallory says:

Like the actress but not excited about this particular project.

  8. Jeff says:

Any news on when this would start filming? She had just announced a return to Broadway for this April and I’m confused by the potential of overlapping schedules and how that would work?
