    • Oh, come on now. You KNOW that’s where this is going. All the execs would say when asked that question is, we’ll watch the dailies and see how things go.

    • I hear you. That theory works on stuff like Real Housewives where the more isn’t the merrier. But this is a law firm, actually two forms which have lots and lots of characters. They’ve still kept the core, it’s all about “the good wife”. Love Matthew Goode, LOVE. Hope he keeps his yummy accent.

  • Perfection. He is such a great actor, and should be a great fit for the show. One of the best casting news this fall as far as I’m concerned.

  • In your next chat with the Kings, will you ask about Josh Charles’ contract? I want to be excited at this news but I need to know that he’s not being phased in as the new Will because we’re losing the old one.

    • Quite frankly they can get rid off Josh Charles. Hate Will. Unfortunately that won’t happen yet. They are growing the The Good Wife universe. It would be so boring if they show the same people over and over and over again…

      • speaking of the same people over and over, whatever happened to Julius Cain – the african american equity partner at Lockhart & Gardner. He was last seen in S3… I’d think at important voting events (like ousting Diane, Alicia, etc) he would have been present but not even so much as a mention. What gives?

        • Real life happened- Michael Boatman, his actor, has been busy with two shows, Anger Management and Instant Mom. Similar to stuff that screwed up Anna Camp and Kelli Giddish’s characters’ plots.
Hopefully they get a chance to bring Boatman/Julius back.

  • This is seriously the best show on TV and I don’t understand why people don’t watch it. I loved Matthew in Imagine Me & You. I also hope he keeps the accent.

  • This almost makes up for the black hole of a casting choice Jason O’Mara. Almost

  • The show has too many characters now that are under utilized. Diane, Cary and Kalinda all need more storylines. My guess is that they are looking for a replacement for Will, if Josh Charles does not sign on for another year, and the show returns. I am a Will and Alicia fan and without Will, I couldn’t watch the show.

  • Quite interesting casting choice for the hit show CBS “The Good Wife” bringing in actor Matthew Goode who befriends Alicia it’s about time that this character gets new people on the show it should bring hopefully some spice within Alicia’s life, specially lately what this new edition of an character will bring is totally up too where it goes, but for now it’s interesting choice.
The Good Wife is becoming among those great shows that continues to bring some of the best stories on television.

  • matthew goode yay and i agree not for a love interest but they say things run in threes. i no alot of characters on the show but i would luv to see carrie preston again she acts ditzy but she’s a super lawyer

    • I think it will be natural for her to gravitate towards him since he was the last one with Will alive. I think Alicia will have lots of loves before the right one comes along, at least I hope so. And dump that snake of a husband.

  • Love this show about smart, confident women but am hooked on the romantic tension between Alicia and Will too. If anyone should go from the show, it should be Alicia’s zipper-challenged husband Peter as I never saw the chemistry between he and Alicia anyway.

  • Love, love Matthew Goode, but I didn’t even know it was him with the American accent. He – and Jack Davenport – are totally wasted not having one. If they wanted an American actor, then they should have hired one. Part of these men’s charm is their accents. They could have had a father who traveled for his job and they spent the formative years in the UK. I don’t know, work around it. The ONLY Brit that has accomplished the best American accent was Hugh Laurie.
