Does he get to keep his own accent? Pretty please!

  4. suzyku says:

Wonderful! Love Matthew Goode and The Good Wife keeps getting better and better!

  5. nikki says:

As long as he is not a love interest

    • Bob Smith says:

Oh, come on now. You KNOW that’s where this is going. All the execs would say when asked that question is, we’ll watch the dailies and see how things go.

  6. Arien says:

goodie, thats what exactly this show needs, more characters

    • Asta says:

I hear you. That theory works on stuff like Real Housewives where the more isn’t the merrier. But this is a law firm, actually two forms which have lots and lots of characters. They’ve still kept the core, it’s all about “the good wife”. Love Matthew Goode, LOVE. Hope he keeps his yummy accent.

  7. Liam says:

Perfection. He is such a great actor, and should be a great fit for the show. One of the best casting news this fall as far as I’m concerned.

In your next chat with the Kings, will you ask about Josh Charles’ contract? I want to be excited at this news but I need to know that he’s not being phased in as the new Will because we’re losing the old one.

    • shuayb says:

Quite frankly they can get rid off Josh Charles. Hate Will. Unfortunately that won’t happen yet. They are growing the The Good Wife universe. It would be so boring if they show the same people over and over and over again…

      • Will says:

speaking of the same people over and over, whatever happened to Julius Cain – the african american equity partner at Lockhart & Gardner. He was last seen in S3… I’d think at important voting events (like ousting Diane, Alicia, etc) he would have been present but not even so much as a mention. What gives?

        • xx says:

Real life happened- Michael Boatman, his actor, has been busy with two shows, Anger Management and Instant Mom. Similar to stuff that screwed up Anna Camp and Kelli Giddish’s characters’ plots.
Hopefully they get a chance to bring Boatman/Julius back.

  10. Steven says:

This is seriously the best show on TV and I don’t understand why people don’t watch it. I loved Matthew in Imagine Me & You. I also hope he keeps the accent.

  11. Leola says:

    Love this!

  12. Rae says:

Love Matthew Goode! I hope he gets to use his accent! This season of TGW is on fire!

  13. pria says:

    He looks so, so creepy.

  15. dsrbroadway says:

This almost makes up for the black hole of a casting choice Jason O’Mara. Almost

  16. MGL says:

The show has too many characters now that are under utilized. Diane, Cary and Kalinda all need more storylines. My guess is that they are looking for a replacement for Will, if Josh Charles does not sign on for another year, and the show returns. I am a Will and Alicia fan and without Will, I couldn’t watch the show.

  17. Liz says:

    Enjoyed him since Chasing Liberty!!

  18. Neli says:

Yeahi! Absolutely love him! Laywer should suit him very well, hoping for more smirks! Fellow Goody Lovers, watch Stoker, it’s so creepy and obscenely, I LOVE IT!

  19. Mekisha Hale says:

Quite interesting casting choice for the hit show CBS “The Good Wife” bringing in actor Matthew Goode who befriends Alicia it’s about time that this character gets new people on the show it should bring hopefully some spice within Alicia’s life, specially lately what this new edition of an character will bring is totally up too where it goes, but for now it’s interesting choice.
The Good Wife is becoming among those great shows that continues to bring some of the best stories on television.

  20. barbara says:

matthew goode yay and i agree not for a love interest but they say things run in threes. i no alot of characters on the show but i would luv to see carrie preston again she acts ditzy but she’s a super lawyer

    • Asta says:

I think it will be natural for her to gravitate towards him since he was the last one with Will alive. I think Alicia will have lots of loves before the right one comes along, at least I hope so. And dump that snake of a husband.

  21. Anne says:

Love this show about smart, confident women but am hooked on the romantic tension between Alicia and Will too. If anyone should go from the show, it should be Alicia’s zipper-challenged husband Peter as I never saw the chemistry between he and Alicia anyway.

  22. the good wife has already reached such a high peak with this season’s storyline, directing adding mattew goode it is speechless , so great!!!

  23. Did you know what the “crisis of faith” was in December?

  24. Ella says:

I loved his dynamic with Will :( Can’t believe this is how he came in.

  25. Asta says:

Love, love Matthew Goode, but I didn’t even know it was him with the American accent. He – and Jack Davenport – are totally wasted not having one. If they wanted an American actor, then they should have hired one. Part of these men’s charm is their accents. They could have had a father who traveled for his job and they spent the formative years in the UK. I don’t know, work around it. The ONLY Brit that has accomplished the best American accent was Hugh Laurie.
