If at first you don’t succeed, finish second on American Idol, record and release an album that goes to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 200, and then try again.
That was esentially the mantra Adam Lambert used to score himself a role on Glee — in his second attempt. Interestingly enough, in the following preview video, he says that his stint on the reality singing competition proved fertile training ground for climbing aboard Fox’s hit musical dramedy.
Lambert also makes a surprising observation about the debut of his new character, Elliott “Starchild” Gilbert, in this Thursday’s episode (9/8c). “When he’s first introduced in his first song, which is ‘Marry the Night’ by Lady Gaga, I think he’s trying way too hard and doing everything he can to make a good impression.”
