  1. sarah says:

Interesting about Chicago PD, it is taking Chicago Fire’s spot from last year. I hope it does as good as ChiFi.

  2. Zach says:

Will they be burning off Ironside? I was actually enjoying it.

    • sarah says:

No, they are going to air holiday specials etc.

      • JC says:

It’s possible that Ironside will be burned off on Saturday nights between Thanksgiving and Christmas or go up on Hulu and/or nbc.com at some point.

    • Sharon K Robinson says:

doesn’t surprise me Ironside was cancelled….No one can play that role like Raymond Burr did

      • Albert Shalhoub says:

You are right, no one can replace Raymond Burr

      • FaDom says:

Raymond Burr was my dude who always got the bad guy; that show and the actor has been gone ages ago. I thought the new IronSide played by my man Blair Underwood was a good idea; I still think it is. They didn’t give the show a chance to collect audiences. b4 cancelling it. It’s better than the new Hawaiii 5 O series that aired a while back.

      • Dre says:

I totally disagree with many of you Especially Michael Aussiello Anybody can play many roles as it has been taken to the movies and recast Two and half men Sheen gone his spot is filled anyway A black man playing a old tv cripple role of the classic burr really In my opinion this show was better than the original
Andy Griffrin show Matlock was better than the old Raymond Burr Ironside
Mr B Underwood was damn good
If he was white it wouldn’t got cancelled for real
I will tell all my friends to boycott NBC
        New shows n replacement shows
Lucky we like football Sunday nights
        CBS has better shows

        • bettye from AL says:

I totally agree. I loved the show. I had planned to record each session. I hope they bring the show back. Blair Underwood was wonderful

    • JG says:

I liked it too. Meanwhile a lousy show starring Robin Williams gets a full season order.

    • LYN says:

IRONSIDE is among the FEW good shows to watch. Why would you cancel it, and retain some of the mess TV has begun showing as entertainment. HA Guess i’ll be watching a DVD’s more.

  3. Jake says:

Wait, is Welcome to the Family cancelled also?

  4. anik says:

Finally a return date for Community. That’s October 19th.

  5. Babybop says:

Happy that Community is coming back! Sad that I have to wait until January…

  6. alistaircrane says:

How did crap like Ironside and Welcome to the Family get the green light in the first place?

    • the girl says:

The awful part is that this last episode was actually the best one. I was looking forward to seeing if they could pull it together and make a solid comedy.

    • janice says:

Are you eating baby food? Only an idiot would like a show called “community”. Talk about no taste!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Lena says:

With the low numbers I’m not surprised about Ironside getting kicked.. But I am super sad that I won’t be seeing Blair Underwood weekly (and often times shirtless).

    • JoyAnne says:

Maybe this would have done better with a different title. It was an insult to name it after the really good original Ironside.
Blair Underwood was pretty good considering the so not Ironside episodes they gave him. His concept of the character was so wrong. As I said, doing the show without riding on that title I’ll probably have given it a chance as it was I hated it.

      • prish says:

I’m a big Blair Underwood fan, but you are right about them naming the show Ironsides. My husband went into it expecting the mellow, nurturing, and smiling personality from the original show. Once I caught onto the shift in personality and crime solving, with flashbacks, I enjoyed it. Maybe The Iron Sargent would have been better, giving a hint to the current character.

  8. wrstlgirl says:

Move Revolution to Ironsides spot, just sayin’ :-) :-) :-)

  9. Georgia says:

Liked Ironsides, but it had stiff competition being against Nashville and CSI. Sorry that it’s been cancelled. I watch Nashville and record Ironsides and CSI.

  10. Tom Charles says:

  11. Emily says:

    8/9c isn’t really a time…

    • Josh says:

Pretty sure you have realized it’s a typo and can move on from this terrible travesty, or no big deal-whichever fits the situation best.

  12. Soo… we’re not gonna see how Community could do without opposing TBBT… Still hoping #SixSeasonsAndaMovie

  13. Woot can’t wait! Also I think you mean, “the Greendale gang will settle into its 8/7c time period.”

  14. atxnole says:

I’ve never heard of either show so I guess that isn’t surprising.

  15. M3rc Nate says:

Lol yet again. I swear my predictions for cancellation are not only obvious, but im shooting like 18 for 20. I knew Ironside would get cancelled (NBC lol…what a joke). I didnt even give it a shot like many pilots cause i know they will get cancelled (cause from teasers and trailers and the premise etc, i know they arent good enough to watch). I swear if the networks hired me i would save them millions and most likely make them millions more with the shows i WOULD recommend. Granted im not perfect…and sometimes i watch a show (Revolution, Under the Dome etc) and think this SHOULD get cancelled cause of how poorly its written and acted etc…but then they blow up and are HUGE..but when watching them i know they wont so i dont think “this WILL get cancelled”.

One im curious about is Dracula. Considering it looks fairly dark/sexy and the actor looks great for the role…im curious if it will succeed and become a hit. I havent seen a trailer that has actual scenes or anything so i reserve my judgement so far. But its on NBC which means its odds of cancellation and of quality of writing and acting are the worst of all the networks IMO.

BTW im so happy Community is gonna be back!!!!!!!!! Love it.

    • wrstlgirl says:

Hahahaha, honestly this is one of the most arrogant comments I’ve ever read. I guess we should all just bow down to you then.

      • et al says:

He’s right though. Most flops can be spotted from miles away, and I never understand how everyone but network executives can see it.

        • wrstlgirl says:

I would say he’s partially right. While it’s true to the viewers eye some shows are obvious failures but really, truly an obnoxious thing to say that he could make and or save them millions. Apparently he so much better and smarter then everyone else in the industry. Sorry, I don’t do arrogance.

          • M3rc Nate says:

Ahhh, always comforted by people with low self esteem and issues with people that are self assured and confident in their abilities/knowledge. How do you not know if I’m better than them? I could be on a UFC (MMA) forum and be saying how i could totally destroy that guy and this guy and you reply and say I’m arrogant and don’t have experience etc etc etc..then i get in the octagon and do have the natural skill to knock them out. So i guess all along i was just self assured and confident and not arrogant and a “computer seat warrior”. Same applies for picking which pilots to air and which to dump.

I’m sure the people who work on this site and write the reviews and watch the shows think they could do WAY better during pilot season in finding the good pilots and when they watch the pilot screening as execs, know us the audience (consumers) much better to know what pilots to put on TV and which not to.

And to that, have you see how HORRIBLE pilot season is? and the success rate of shows that go on the air? You really think i couldn’t do better? That you couldn’t do better? lol. With a pickup rate past the first season of like..10%-20% of all the pilots…that’s like if i said I would be a better (R) Congressmen than most in Congress….with a approval rating of 5% you don’t think odds are i could be by just not being corrupt and egotistical and ignoring of facts?

          • Wrstlgirl says:

Wow, you really do know everything! Including me and we’ve never even met. Go you!!!

        • S. says:

I think Kevin Pollak said network execs can find what’s special about a project and just surgically remove it. They’re not trying to make it suck, they genuinely think they’re helping. Their goal of course is to make money. I’m sure some of that means weighing in by marketing. I say hire talented people you already know can do things like cast, budget, and shoot television, then let them have at it. The new people might need more supervision because they haven’t proven themselves yet. Allowing execs to make it seem like they have a purpose by meddling where they need not is what kills things. Think about it, if you don’t put in your 2 cents, your boss goes ‘why are we paying you?’ so you create busy work and wreck shows by accident. There needs to be an understanding that they’re also getting paid to know when to step back. Of course most of them aren’t English or theatre majors so they don’t have the creative wherewithal to realize when that is. An MBA doesn’t an understanding of good art make. Ambition for their own career and the idea that most pilots fail anyway makes them write off the likelihood that they’re the problem, not the showrunners.

          • M3rc Nate says:

Oh i TOTALLY agree. It reminds me of the show “Episodes” and how the underlings did just that, fiddle and tweak (un-needed) shows and it ruined them. Worst of all, just like in the gaming industry, when execs get involved, it almost always gets ruined because they arent creative, they arent anything but suits that went to Harvard or Yale for BUSINESS. They are trying 100% to make more money. If they have to choose between something with a small audience but is insanely loved and is critically acclaimed as art and amazing (think if Breaking Bad had 2 million viewers) or something that is so blah and average and brings NOTHING special, total cookie cutter show, to the table but has 10 million viewers, which do you think the Harvard Business grad is gonna pick/create? What about the creative artist? Thankfully but rarely there are some that stick by their shows, like the Fox Exec who loved Fringe so he kept it a LOT longer than most networks would have.

    • Bobby says:

Most new shows don’t make it to season two, so you’re not being a genius when you predict cancellation!

      • wrstlgirl says:

      • M3rc Nate says:

Ok then I’ll word it this way, i predict the shows that will be picked up 18/20. A show i wouldnt have thought would be good or picked up before watching it was B-99…but wow was i wrong, as i watched the pilot and beyond i fell in love.

    • Britta Unfiltered says:

I actually think most network executives know their shows are crap and know they’ll probably end up cancelling them, but they don’t have anything better to choose to put on, so they just go for it and cross their fingers, because quite often America does go for crap. So you never know when you could have a huge hit on your hands regardless of its quality. There’s not really a lot of brains going into this process. It’s all just dumb luck.

    • jp says:

Just sayin..saw it on hulu before it aired and said it would not make it…never watched again…so I said it first..tag you’re it.

  16. CJ says:

I hope Ironside’s cancellation means that Pablo Schreiber will be back on Orange is the New Black. Can’t imagine the show without Pornstache.

  17. Jared says:

I knew Yvette Nicole’s episode of WTTF would never see the light of day. Both shows sucked so there’s no big surprise that there cancelled.

  18. Kat says:

So… there won’t be more than those 3 episodes of “Welcome to the Family” at all? Damn! It wasn’t the best show out there – definitely – but personally, I liked it A LOT more than that crap that “The Crazy Ones” is – no offense, but I’ve watched all 3 episodes so far and I haven’t laughed once… I LOVE SMG and Robin Williams, but this show just doesn’t do it for me while I had a few laughs with “Welcome to the family”…

    • Warm Stinky Farts says:

Why do ppl continue to watch shows they don’t like, then complain about them? If you didn’t laugh during the first episode, WHY WASTE YOU TIME WITH 2 MORE? So DUMB!!!

      • Lexiana May says:

        Don’t call her stupid.

        Don’t be insensitive and mean.

She has the right to post on here regardless or not that she has seen the show.

The promos for the crazy ones look generic, choppy and like it’s a drama trying to pass as a comedy.

If it was on any other network, it would have surely been cancelled by now.

But this is CBS and they tend to keep shows on the air that are not funny but miraculously have high ratings.

Take for example, 2 and a half men and TBBT.

Bottomline, everyone here is entitled to their own opinions and beliefs and should be able to express them without being pounced on.

      • JEst says:

Maybe the fact that even some of the best shows of all time take awhile to hit their stride with whatever comedic or dramatic elements they become for. Ever think of that one?

  19. DJ Doena says:

Is there a list of what’s been cancelled already like the renewal list at the end of the season?

  20. anik says:

I would have like to see Yvette Nicole Brown guest-star on Welcome to the Family before its cancellation

  21. Tim O'Brien says:

Too bad. I kind of liked Ironside but I had a feeling it wouldn’t do well. These remakes of old tv shows don’t last with the exception of Hawaii 5 0 !!

  22. Jo Jo says:

I liked Welcome to the Family… It wasn’t “horrible”. The Michael J Fox show is bad.. cancel that

  23. monieet says:

Bummer, I liked this show and it should have been given a chance to shine. Blair Underwood has not played this kind of character ever; he had me shaking in my boots. Fist The Event and now Ironside. Bad move NBC… BAD MOVE…

    • JEst says:

The lower ratings the less advertising money comes in and since that is what helps the show exist it would have been a bad move to not cancel. Why would they want to continue to produce a show that would lose them money?

  24. Matt says:

    Let me get this right….
NBC is going to air new episodes of Parks at 8 against BBT, then air repeats and specials at 8:30?
Why not move Parks to 8:30 right now and concede the specials at 8?

  25. Andie says:

Is it a bad sign that they are premiering Community the day after New Years, or a good one? It kind of seems like no one is going to watch then. But I’m glad it got a premiere date!

  26. rowan77 says:

Blair Underwood deserves a better show. Welcome to the Family was just bland. Yay about Community returning in January (wish it was sooner!). Anyone else troubled by Donald Glover’s Instagram missives? Especially the one about bro-rape?

  27. Alisa Neely says:

my mom didn’t think it would do very well…..also, the networks DON’T give “new shows” very long…..they used to give them at least 13 weeks…..now, if they don’t catch after the first couple of shows….they PULL them….and i don’t think that’s fair…..however, if they didn’t briing soooooo many NEW ones on, at the same time viewer FAVORITES returning…..they might catch better…..that’s what “mid-season” is for…….saddly, i may miss the “chicago fire” spin-off…..because it’s up against 1 of my other favorites.

  28. Judy says:

I think it stinks that IRONSIDE is being cancelled, I thought it was a good show, alot better then some of the stupid shows they have on!!

  29. Kathy says:

Well, I thought Welcome To The Family would be cancelled based on the promos NBC show. Poor Blair Underwood, first The Event, now this. :(

  30. I think a big disconnect for viewers going into Ironside is that “Hey, you know that crazy serial rapist/murderer that kidnapped and tortured Olivia for 2 hours and change on SVU? Well, tune in next week because he’s now a cop on the show it leads into. Enjoy.”

  31. Nancy Emery says:

Why Ironsides? It’s a great show

  32. Amelia says:

I liked Welcome to the Family wtf NBC????

  33. Chris H says:

No I enjoyed Welcome to the Family. I don’t understand why no one watched it but they watch crap like the goldbergs and even the really stupid Super Lame Night. Bummed!

    • Donna says:

I checked out welcome to the family because I love the cast, and I found it funny and interesting. I have never understood the networks paying for and producing 13 episodes of a show and not at least playing them. I watched one episode of the Goldberg’s and it was more than enough.

  34. frogless says:

I think it is too bad they are canceling Ironside. It isn’t the best show, but, it is far far away from the worst show. There are other shows that need to be canceled before this one.

  35. Deena says:

Didn’t WTTF’s ratings go up this week? Mary McCormick & Mike O’Malley alone should get it more than 3 episodes. I will never understand why networks jump the gun so soon. Sometimes it takes a chunk of episodes for a show to get in the groove & gain momentum.

    • Alisa Neely says:

i agree….that’s why is said….years ago….they at least gave them close to 13 wks….it takes TIME for shows to get into the grove and for people to FIND them and to get INTO them…..and with soooooo many networks and returning shows.

  36. Lexiana May says:

Blair Underwood is a good actor but he hasn’t been able to find his stride in TV since L.A. Law.

That was not only proven with Ironside but with The Event and L.A.X and Dirty Sexy Money.

SATC doesn’t count because it wasn’t a crappy network show.

I never did watch Ironside because I kind of feared that it would be cancelled and i really didn’t want to get invested in it because of that.

It’s really sad because blair is a good actor and could really work a meaty role like Ironside.

Even Eva Longoria couldn’t save WTTF.

That was DOA because ofthe prudes and mommy groups who were bound to protest for it’s cancellation at some point.

Someone please explain to me how the crazy ones got a full season pick up.

It’s not funny and the promos look choppy and Robin Williams does better in movies than TV.

I’m hoping that someone at CBS realizes their mistake and puts that mess out of it’s misery.

  37. Robin says:

Well that is a bummer about “Welcome to the Family.” I was kind of liking it. Ah well…

  38. Amanda says:

Wtf! I thought WTTF was super charming. Sad to see it go.

  39. Tran 2.0 says:

Can’t wait for Chicago PD when it debuts on January 8th. Wonder if the Chicago Fire spin-off is destined to be a breakout hit for mid-season 2014.

  40. dsrbroadway says:

I was kind of rooting for Welcome to the Family. It’s a great cast and it was starting to find it’s voice. With Thursday doing so badly across the board, you just know NBC would love to cancel Sean and Michael’s shows too – I’m sure they’re much more expensive but they don’t want to burn bridges with them yet.

  41. JoyAnne says:

I like all the comments about shows being cancelled too soon. How many new shows came on in September? Too many to check them all out and decide which ones we like. There are shows being cancelled I haven’t even had the chance to see yet. Networks need as others have said to give them time for viewers to even find them.
Then we still wanted to watch the returning shows we had become ‘involved’ in.

  42. Joey says:

Happy Community got a premiere date for season 5. I can’t wait to see it in January.

  43. Tina says:

very sad that Welcome to the Family is gone…wasn’t the “best” new show, but certainly far above many of them that are on…

    • Veronica Clarke says:

I’m so disappointed that Ironside was cancelled, this show was so entertaining, smart and so not typical in so many ways. What do we need to do to this show returned? The plots were so different and unique, not the common easy story, I really just don’t understand how or why this show would be canceled! Bring it back!!!

  44. Angela says:

Great news regarding “Community”. Look forward to it coming back :)!

  45. David says:

Ironsides pilot was good but I couldn’t make it through the second episode. Welcome to the family was good so I’m disappointed. Its too bad they have Thursday comedies up against cbs comedies. They princely would have cancelled the mj Fox show too of they hadn’t ordered a full season.

  46. Kyle says:

I’m so happy Parks and Rec won’t be up against Big Bang Theory for much longer. That may help it’s numbers a bit.

  47. guest says:

aw man! I was really starting to get into Welcome to the Family! it’s not the greatest sitcom ever made, of course, but I thought it was a solid effort with a likable cast. boo :(

  48. Kay says:

    Cool cool cool

  49. curtis martin says:

Whats wrong with NBC? Ironside was getting better an better each week.Shame on you NBC!!
