MTV Orders Copycat Karaoke Competition

MTV Copycat KaraokeAt long last, there’s a reality singing competition where the phrase “make it your own” will be strictly verboten.

MTV has ordered Copycat, a half-hour afternoon series in which contestants will be judged on how precisely they can imitate their favorite recording artists.

The studio audience will vote on each performance and determine which singer takes home a cash prize and the title of “Ultimate Copycat”; the vanquished performers will go home empty-handed.

The network has yet to decide when Copycat will premiere, which means there’s still time for you to fine-tune your rendition of Gaga’s “Applause” in your bathroom mirror.
