  • Best line: “Come on, Mary Todd Lincoln, let me buy you a drink.”. It’s going to be a great season.

  • Coven has the potential to be AHS strongest season so far. Last nights episode was amazing and the whole entire cast is probably the best ensemble currently on TV.

  • Coven has an enormous amount of potential, but let’s not have this season randomly turn to aliens in the end please. Oh, and less sex, it’s just getting annoying.

    • Considering Zoe’s power seems to be killing men by sleeping with them, I don’t know if that’s likely to happen.

      • A common problem with average TV shows is showing something (and I don’t just mean sex here, but anything) when implying it is sufficient. Many shows make this mistake with sex, many make it with other things as well. The best of the best TV shows tend not to make that mistake, or at least very rarely. It’s part of what makes them great. AHS is a good show, not average, not truly great – but it could achieve what it needs to with Zoe and have less sex, and would probably generally be edging closer to great for it.

        • Yeah, I definitely understand what you mean and its very true for some shows. I guess given the nature of this show, they probably showed it for that gore/horror factor. Also, given that it was the premiere, they were allowing people to see her powers rather than just say what they were because some people like to see things rather than just be told that this thing is happening or that thing happened. They’ll probably cut back on it as the story goes on, but I have this strong feeling that they will show her using that power again at least once.

        • Oh shut up you prude.

          • Really James? Prude? I think not. Sometimes the illusion of sex is more sexy than watching it. You might want to consider going back to your mom’s basement and watch porn on your computer.

        • Ryan Murphy created Nip/Tuck and that was chock full of sex so I highly doubt they will cut back. FX is the HBO of cable tv. They push the envelope with shows all the time. However I do feel that they achieved what was needed in order to carry on with the storyline. Zoe wont kill a new guy every episode by sleeping with hi. Plus AHS is known for pushing the envelope.
I disagree with you that this show isn’t great. The acting and the witty lines tied in with bits of history make it great for me. and It looks like about 5 million ppl agree with me

  • The acting! Nothing else on TV can come close. The premiere set us up for much watercooler fodder

  • Yes! Well deserved. I’m wondering if the positive buzz will give the show even more of a boost in ratings. I can see it getting TWD-like ratings eventually.

  • well deserved. That was one good premiere. I’m always a sucka for witch stories and especially with this amazing, strong (mainly) all female cast I’m one happy TV addict.

  • Frankly, I thought the premier sucked. Not nearly as intriguing as the past 2 seasons – this one came across as some kind of “teen horror drama”. I found much of it quite stupid – didn’t like Kathy Bates crawling out of the ground in a comedic way …. just didn’t like the whole premise of a bunch of “girl witches” in … of course … New Orleans (very cliche).Really didn’t like all the “comedy” lines either (one mentioned above). In the past 2 seasons, there were some “comedic” lines – but they were few and far between, and were more sinister comedic than anything else. Really hoping it’ll get better……….

    • Sorry you didn’t enjoy it. You’re definitely in the minority. I thought it was great. I liked the fact it was set in New Orleans. There is so much history there which can be used in some great story telling. This is so much better than in some fictional town that has no ties to voodoo and witchcraft.

  • After a weak season 1 and a strong season 2, that not a surprise.
The season 3 premiere was really really great.
