The 10-episode project, inspired by Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 film of the same name, will feature a new true crime story and new characters. It stars Sherlock‘s Martin Freeman, Bad Santa‘s Billy Bob Thornton and Dexter‘s Colin Hanks.

Walsh, who played Dr. Addison Montgomery for six seasons of the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off, can next been seen in the Oct. 30 installment of DirecTV’s Full Circle.

According to our sister site Deadline, which first reported Walsh’s casting, Joey King (Bent) and Josh Close (Justified) also have joined the series. King will play Hanks’ character’s daughter Greta, and Close will play Ron, the brother of Freeman’s character.

  • This is going to be tough. While I would really love to see Kate on this role, I can’t stand Billy Bob Thornton. So this will be a toss up for me…But happy for her. It seems that she’s been pretty busy since Private Practice ended. Maybe that’s why she wanted to do a shortened season.

  • Great choice! Love Kate so much. Now they should try to get Katie Holmes for Frances McDormand’s role (I heard they wanted someone young-ish) and you have a wonderful cast.
