Scoop: Vanessa Redgrave Joins ABC's Black Box

Vanessa Redgrave Black BoxVanessa Redgrave is entering The Black Box, ABC’s forthcoming drama series from L Word creator Ilene Chaiken and X-Men helmer Bryan Singer, TVLine has confirmed.

The Black Box centers on Elizabeth Black (Kelly Reilly), a world renowned neuroscientist who appears to have it all but is constantly haunted by her own struggle with mental illness.

Oscar winner Redgrave, whose TV credits include Call the Midwife and Nip/Tuck, will play Dr. Hartramph, Elizabeth’s psychiatrist and the keeper of all of her secrets.

Feature scribe Amy Holden Jones (The Relic and Mystic Pizza) is penning the script.

    I would definitely not recommend these as ways to
    break the ice however. “Arsenio was a big hit way back when, he
    exited prematurely, and aren’t we all just plain tired with
    Jay Leno and Letterman. He represented his homeland in four
    Olympics and is a three-time indoor world champ in the 1500 meters.
