Emmys Video: Emily Deschanel Dishes Bones Wedding Details – The Dress! The Vows!

Get More: Emmys, Previews

emmy13-deschanel-dwLooking every inch the blushing bride, Emily Deschanel was full of Bones wedding talk when TVLine caught up with her at Sunday’s Emmys.

When TVLine’s Michael Ausiello chatted with the actress on the Emmy red carpet, not only did she give all the deets about the classic nuptial moment she and leading man David Boreanaz shared earlier in the week – off camera, no less – but she spilled the beans about Booth and Brennan’s vows and revealed the area in which her on-screen better half has the edge over her real-life spouse.

But why read about that stuff when you can press PLAY and let Deschanel tell you (well, Michael) herself?

  • How could’ve Brennan been preparing her vows for years if she, until last season’s finale, has always said that she didn’t believe in marriage and didn’t want to get married, ever?

    • The infamous Gravedigger note

      • Well, it’s a possibility, they did say we’d be finding out this season what she wrote on that note.

    • Nonetheless, I’m still very excited about the wedding.
Thanks for this interview, Michael. BTW, David Boreanaz tweeted that the wedding episode would be postponed because of baseball, is that true? The wedding will no longer air in October?

      • If it’s moved due to baseball, it means it will likely air when the show comes in early November. Whether it airs on Friday or another day (I have doubts FOX will move BONES). Depends on when the baseball playoffs begin. BONES was supposed to return starting November 8th, so the wedding likely would air in November Sweeps…if not the final episode before the baseball hiatus.

  • Omg!

Could this woman be any more adorable???

She is beautiful. Much more so than her over-rated sister.

    • I’m not digging her hair being dyed that color…it’s too red…she suits it better darker…jmho :)

  • so they are making this wedding traditional? Brennan is going against everything she ever believed in? What happened to this character? I don’t even know her anymore. Haven’t watched one single episode since season 4, thank god. its just gone down hill. Brennan would never get married let alone have a wedding like this. Complete bs writing and trying to turn her into the perfect stepford wife for booth.

    • If you don’t like the show, why comment? Go find another show to annoy

    • And you clicked on the article just to complain? What does that say about you?

Comment by Hoosierdaddy – September 22, 2013 10:34 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Someone who hasn’t watched for 5 years has no right to complain. You have absolutely no clue about what has gone down with her character and how she has developed for the past 5 years or what it now means to her to be married to Booth.

You obviously still miss the show since you’re clicking on articles about it, maybe you miss it, come back and watch again then.

    • Actually… if you read the books, which the series is based on, Brennan has been married and has a child from that marriage. Kathy Reichs said in an interview when the show started airing that the TV series is Brennan before the books… So, in actual fact this makes total sense! I was a fan of the books long before the series started airing, so am happy to see this more “human” side of Bones come around.

Comment by KarenBB – September 24, 2013 11:23 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • I love seeing her more human too! Sometimes some of her inhumanness (word?) got to be a bit much!

Comment by Just watch – September 24, 2013 01:55 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • So you’re saying a character is suppose to stay stagnant and never change or learn anything through out the whole show? Now that would be disappointing, to have Bones experience all these lessons and end up not learning a thing! . How would that be any fun, or interesting?? If you had watched any of the more recent episodes you would see she is far from a stepford wife. lol.

Comment by Just watch – September 24, 2013 01:53 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Brennan’s beliefs are the same, but she loves Booth and wishes to honor his beliefs. Booth wants a traditional wedding, and Brennan loves him enough to make him happy, it’s called character growth, well within the realm of Brennan’s character development. If you’ve been watching Bones from the beginning you would have noted that Brennan’s ideas and beliefs have been evolving. She is no longer just an intellectual, she is able to incorporate her intellect with her emotion, thanks mostly to Angela, Booth and their baby Christine.

  • Emily’s so cute and gorgeous! My sister and I are about as far apart in age as Emily and Zooey, so I enjoy seeing the similarities in their mannerisms and personalities.

  • Honestly Emily Deschanel is one of the most beautiful actresses I’ve seen in a long time. Someone who doesn’t go by standards set by many women in Hollywood. She is totally my role model and inspiration!
