AHS: Coven, which stars Jessica Lange, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson and Gabourey Sidibe, will explore “themes of race and oppression and family — especially mothers and daughters — along with laughs and scares and a few tears,” exec producer Tim Minear teased at the Television Critics Assoc. summer press tour last month.

American Horror Story: Coven premieres October 9 at 10/9c on FX.

They are killing it with the ad campaign this season.

  2. wordsmith says:

So far, this season looks to be plenty paranormal, but less straight-up horrific than the first two, which is fine by me. I like that they’re mixing it up every time.

  3. Annie says:

Clear reference to voodoo here – very intrigued to see how this season’s arc plays out.

  4. Walter says:

Not only voodoo, but in one of the previous ads where they showed a black woman scuttling toward the camera they may have been referencing the horrors Madame LaLaurie, played by Kathy Bates, on her slaves.

  5. tahina says:

Anything with Kathy Bates is creepy enough for me..love her!! *-*

  6. Mel says:

Each ad is more interesting than the next. Looking forward to AH. So many great shows on TV this season!
