  • Seriously? Klaus. He’s the reason why we’re watching the show.

    • Honestly, I would probably be more excited for the show if it didn’t have Marcel. Maybe they should’ve cast someone else, but I just cannot stand him. I love/hate Klaus and love Elijah and sometimes can like Rebeccah, but I just didn’t care for the backdoor pilot. Will give the series a chance, though.

  • i can’t focus on this yet until they get rid of that ridiculous baby story line.

    • I wasn’t too fond of the baby storyline either, but the more I read about the upcoming storyline I have gotten on board with it. This isn’t going to be like the Twilight baby which is what first thought. This baby doesn’t change Klaus as much as it changes his family and brings them closer together to help Klaus take back New Orleans and help the witches. I like that Klaus isn’t going to be changed by the thought of he is having a baby overnight… It sounds like Elijah and Rebecca are more excited than he is and nothing, I mean nothing is better than a happy, over protective Uncle Elijah.

      • Still a baby shouldn’t be on a vampire show. HE’S DEAD. DEAD. I can’t get on board when a baby has no place on a supernatural show to begin with. Also a baby can’t fix their family – and it’s so OOC to think Elijah would want an innocent child around them when they are all dangerous and have enemies.

        • Agreed BUT we are talking about a show that has vampires, witches, werewolf’s and hybrids as the main characters so reality isn’t an issue here. I am not going to judge or criticize until I actually watch the show and as long as it doesn’t include the Elena/Stefan/Damon triangle I am in. LOL

  • DUH. Team Originals definitely. Marcel doesn’t even come close to the hotness that is Klaus AND Elijah.

  • Duh, Klaus. Always Klaus

  • It’s absolutely ridiculous that the main plot of this show is how two original vampires let Klaus’s progeny still live because the witches said they couldn’t kill him. I was really rooting for this show; but, it’ll be another dud, like TVD.

  • The most ridiculous part is that apparently klaus got a magical vasectomy. ‘Before you start thinking that Klaus has a new way to make an army (just have a bunch of babies), Plec explains that the witches have made sure that can’t happen. “The witches have closed that loophole,” Plec says. “[The pregnancy] really did take everyone by surprise, so it’s like when you’re in there doing all that crazy magic that’s going to get you killed, make sure that this can’t happen again. He can’t have his army of little baby minions.” This is just STUPID

    • Heh. I really hope the term “magical vasectomy” becomes a Thing in the fandom. That cracks me up. (And yeah, definitely stupid… but also kind of hilarious, no?)

    • Was this magically vasectomy even written into the show? Cause I sure missed that part. Seems the producer Plec is pulling a fast one on us all

  • When are we going to see a trailer/preview with actual new footage for the Originals??

  • I think most TVD fans will be on Klaus side. He’s the right “race” for the CW fans.

Comment by Lena – September 12, 2013 04:28 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • Why the scare-quotes around “race”? There’s really no euphemistic or inoffensive way to interpret a statement like that. If you’re going to put it out there, own it!

Comment by wordsmith – September 12, 2013 07:56 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • Unless you were implying that TVD fans like to root for hybrid vampire-werewolves, which would be an odd claim, but perhaps arguable.

  • FIrst I love Klaus & can understand him daddy issues his dad Mikel wasn’t his dad I know what that’s like my dads family wanted me dead my brothers & sister 2 very much older brother & a very old sister I’m the bastard child they hate only 1 brother cares for me. I know what it is to be hunted when you have 5 families in New York & my dad was the head until 1976 when he died so I know what Klaus went threw Hes better than a king he’s an EMPRER the hybrd the miss understood Marcel will die slowly I hope. Elijah the Nobelman is honest & willing to do what it takes for family has compassion is a gift -rear for a vamp- Becca she was right on that island she did what she had to like the rest of them to save her family they’ve all done it. To save there families so what’s the difference.

  • I still don’t know how come Klaus didn’t just behead Marcel on the spot or compel him. Isn’t Klaus invincible? Miss Julie Plec needs to explain things fast because right now the premise of the show appears to be ridiculous.

Comment by Ally Oop – September 13, 2013 12:51 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • That is so true. The mythology always shift to suit the new storyline being pursued. It is a fantasy show but we still expect the writers to maintain some logic and consistency in presenting the mythos of the show.

  • I’m team Marcel because why is Klaus even in New Orleans? He needs to go focus on his teen wolf mom over there is a corner.

Comment by Laney – September 16, 2013 05:23 PM PDT  Reply To This Post
  • Why the hate for a show that hasn’t even aired yet. We have seen the pilot thus far, things don’t start gelling until episode two BUT yet everyone seems to have made up their mind. Perhaps you all should stick with that riveting triangle of Stefan/Elena/Damon and leave this show alone. Apparently any plot that doesn’t include two vampire brother fighting ove one boring bland girl is just not good enough for you.
