What to Watch Friday: Luther Closes the Case, CBS' Teachable Moment, 20/20 Returns and More
On TV this Friday: A baddie locks on Luther in the miniseries’ finale, CBS airs Teach for America, a Bones encore brings Booth’s mom to town (again) and Real Fear 2 shares more scary stories behind big-screen hits. Here are seven programs to keep on your radar.
8 pm Teach (CBS) | Two-hour special: Celebs (including Parks and Recreation‘s Rashida Jones, Two and a Half Men‘s Jon Cryer and We Are Men‘s Jerry O’Connell) honor educators in this look at America’s school system. Academy Award winner Davis Guggenheim (Waiting for Superman) directs.
8 pm Dear Dumb Diary (Hallmark) | Emily Alyn Lind (aka little Emily Thorne in Revenge‘s flashbacks) and Mary-Charles Jones (aka little, better-behaved Miley in Hannah Montana flashbacks) star in this made-for-TV movie about a young girl who confides her elaborate middle-school fantasies to her journal.
8 pm Bones (Fox) | Repeat to Revisit: Joanna Cassidy (Body of Proof) guest-stars as Booth’s long-lost mom – who shows up with a special request of her “little noodle” – in this encore from last season.
9 pm Real Fear 2: The Truth Behind (More) Movies (Chiller) | Paranormal investigators take a look at the events that inspired movies like The Haunting in Connecticut, The Blair Witch Project and A Nightmare on Elm Street.
10 pm Luther (BBC America) | Season finale: The vigilante targets Luther and those close to him (cough Mary cough). (Not yet renewed.)
10 pm Strike Back (Cinemax) | An on-the-verge Dalton goes AWOL with a detainee.
10 pm 20/20 (ABC) | Season 36 premiere: The Friday-night news magazine returns, with Elizabeth Vargas and David Muir behind the anchor desk.
