What to Watch Tuesday: Y&R Honors Kay, Luther Is Back, Jon Stewart Returns to Daily Duty & More

Young and the Restless Kay Chancellor FateOn TV this Tuesday: The Young and the Restless remembers a great lady (and the woman she played), Luther is back on the beat, Jon Stewart reclaims his Daily Show throne and one of Lisa Kudrow’s Friends makes a Therapy appointment. Here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

Check local listings The Young and the Restless (CBS) | The daytime staple honors its grande dame Jeanne Cooper (who passed away in May) with the first episode of a two-part memorial service for her character Katherine Chancellor. Cooper’s real-life son Corbin Bernsen (Psych) returns as Father Todd, who presides over the event, while Lauralee Bell, Tricia Cast, Adrienne Frantz and Michael Damian are among the past cast members on hand for the tribute.

8 pm Extreme Weight Loss (ABC) | Season finale: Chris helps an obese police officer who must pass a fitness test in order to keep his job. (Yep, renewed.)

    Looking forward to seeing all the returns for Kay’s funeral: Nina, Danny, Gina, Brock, etc. Sad that it took Jeanne Cooper’s real life death for Y&R to bring vets back for its 40th anniversary.

    I would be more excited about Jon Stewart’s return to The Daily Show tonight if I didn’t enjoy John Oliver’s summer stint so much. Hopefully, he’ll have a killer show tonight that will help to temper that feeling.
