  1. TV God says:

It was two seasons not three. The “third season” was an extended 2nd season.

    • maria says:

I loved the show “Happily Divorced” – it was very funny and had great guests. Please bring it back on another channel if not TV Land. There are very few funny shows and Fran and Company was a great one – Love it!

    • pepper says:

I love the show Happily Divorced. I am very disappointed to hear that it was cancelled. There are soooo many reality shows that I can hardly watch tv anymore. I have enough reality I need a great comedy and I know this show was a reflection of Fran’s real life but it was quite funny. These days everyone needs to laugh more. Please bring it back.

  2. Andy says:

Eh. I forgot it was still going.

  3. Lena120 says:

It was actually a good show. I don’t get it. First Retired at 35, now this. I thought Happily Divorced was much funnier than The Exes but that’s still around. Ugh.

    • shuayb says:

I agree The Exes is quite terrible compared to Happily Divorced… I don’t get the premise of The Exes… Oh welll. You can’t put Fran down. She’ll find something else.

      • Sylvia Duerksen says:

Happily Divorced was one of the better comedies. I never missed it. But I miss it now. For that matter I really liked Retired at 35. Don’t care of The Exes or Baby Daddy. Happily Divorced was genuinely funny.

    • Elizabeth says:

Happy divorced is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I don’t know what ratings you were looking at, but everyone I know loved it. Absolutely hysterical.

  4. Goku says:

I thought it was cancelled like two years ago. I’ve never even heard about it since then.

  5. april-ann says:

Hope we see her back on tv again soon. I wonder how many from the cast of The Nanny are busy these days? Just a thought…

  6. sebaroni says:

    Sad! I really liked it!

  7. There is a reason why ME-TV is so popular. Get back to the classics.

    • kate says:

Oh God, no. I have to give TVLand credit for their stab at original programming, since I really don’t understand the sudden rise of channels with a sole purpose of airing shows that were canceled decades ago. Most of them weren’t THAT good.

  8. Pauly D says:

  9. Mark says:

Fran was funny but bad casting job with the husband.

  10. Zulma says:

omg loved the show! why I would rather see Fran n Peter than Hot in Cleveland, Elka needs to stop trying to be Sofia Petrillo, there was only one an there will only be one Sofia Petrillo!

  11. so sad, i really like Happily Divorce, it was funny

  12. Hugo says:

I’m sorry for this. Like Fran and the show. Hope to see her on TV soon

  13. Cherry says:

It’s a shame, I really started to enjoy this show. I’ll miss seeing Fran on my tv!

  14. Liz says:

    Thats sad, I love Fran!

  15. Cherry says:

Send Fran to Hot in Cleveland!

  16. Mel says:

I like Fran’s show just as well (maybe a smidge better) than Hot in Cleveland, and a hundred times better than that horrible Retired at 35. A 35 year old guy living with his father at the retirement community? WOW! That was just sad, sad, sad. Good luck Fran. I’m sure you will find something else worthy of you.

  17. Elga N. says:

I will miss this show so much :(
Way funnier than The Soul Man or the last season of Hot in Cleveland!
Damn, first Happy Endings and now Happily Divorced !

  18. Susan says:

This was the best show on TV land. I can’t believe they cancelled it. The ex’s is terrible, yet their still on. Poor franny , I adore her and Pete. Wish they would reconsider. I miss that show already. It was better then hot in Cleveland, which use to be my favorite until happily divorced, making hot and cleavland my second favorite show. All the rest are terrible, so now I will only watch hot in Cleveland then change the channell. I hope to see Franny soon, on a another citcom, she is my ultimate funny girl. Please reconsider bringing my franny back, and soon. Mrs Tenentes

  19. ChrisGa says:

I thought the show was amusing and entertaining and the cast was great. Definitely better than Retired at 35–even the great Jessica Walter couldn’t save that pathetic turd. But I still enjoy Hot In Cleveland and, to a lesser extent, the Exes, another show with a great cast that is plagued by wildly inconsistent writing; it runs the gamut from be mildly hilarious to painfully unfunny.

  20. Jennifer L says:

Network & cable tv are dead!

  21. Louis says:

Fran tweeted: “I think @tvland made a mistake. It wasn’t the show tht ws the problem its getting the audience t2the network. We did it and we did it well.” She also tweeted that a petition has been made to urge TVLand to reconsider Happily Divorced, so go ahead and sign the petition!!

  22. Melissa says:

I’m very saddened that Happily Divorced was canceled. I loved that show. Fran Drescher, Rita Moreno, and the rest of the cast were terrific. I can’t understand that “The Exes” and “The Soul Man” are still on TVLand. They don’t even come close to being as funny as “Happily Divorced”. Please bring it back! I’m a big fan. Were people annoyed by her voice, or the fact that Fran is Jewish?

  23. This is really upsetting. This was a great comedic show. WTH?

  24. louise castelli says:

will miss the show. Love Fran.

  25. Gary says:

This cancellation really sucks big time. The show was hilarious; I never thought anyone else but Renee Taylor could play Fran’s mother, but Rita did it to hilarious perfection, so many funny scenes, what a loss!

  26. Dean Edell says:

MeTV is by no means anything to crow about. Most of the old programming they show sucks donkey balls! Who can honestly find anything entertaining about such immensely inferior shows such as: F Troop, Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres, I dream of Jeannie, Hogan’s Heroes, The Lucy Show, The Mothers In law, Gomer Pyle USMC, The Love Boat, Gilligan’s Island, M*A*S*H, Dick Van Dyke Show, The Odd Couple, I Love Lucy, The Brady Bunch, etc….

These are some of the most overrated, lamest, tackiest, most poorly written, produced, directed and conceived TV show ever made. Why will people bitch about today’s TV shows and not give jeers to where they really belong to all of that egregious old crap.

Ok, so there are some lame shows made today. But today’s level of lame can’t even come close to yesteryears level of lame.

I sincerely applaud TVland for reducing their library and a reduction of playing ancient sitcoms. They had some pretty darn good reality shows that didn’t deserve to be cut so soon. TVland’s own produced sitcoms: Hot In Cleveland, Happily Divorced and Retired at 35 were cutting edge. These shows had an extremely high comedic level, well acted, well written and very much re-watchable many times over. I dare you to try and watch one episode of Gilligan’s Island and wanting to cut your wrists after just a few minutes of exposure of this ghastly sitcom!

    • Mel says:

Well I agree with your comments about “some” of the old shows, they were based on simpler times and showcased what was going on then. Of course today’s shows are edgier. Also I will vehemently disagree with you about Retired at 35…now that show was completely unwatchable! Again, another lame show reflecting the current times – adult children living with parents.

    • Jean says:

love, exciting and new. Come aboard, were expecting you. The Love Boat

  27. CG says:

I can’t believe the ignorance and blatant, egotistical boorishness of the poster “Dean Edell.” Just who do you think you are, sir? Your vulgar vernacular is proof positive just what kind of person you are. I’ll tell you who you are, someone completely lacking in good taste!

My goodness you make for a most undesirable twit!

Your vicious, unwarranted gripes regarding MeTV is an outrage! How dare you?! MeTV is one of those stations that is one of the last vestiges of hope in today’s rancid television market.

So what if some of those old shows are kind of silly? They’re not the filth laden, poorly acted and inferior to the core garbage that’s the norm for shows made today.

TVLand is an inferior network! They have abandoned a HUGE portion of their audience by offering a plethora of tasteless modern rubbish and what few classics that they air are edited beyond belief making them unwatchable as well.

Those so-called “reality” shows that you, “Dean,” speak so highly of are the reason television is in ruins today. Those “reality” shows that TVLand once aired are so unspeakable horrible that only an absolute cretin could find them entertaining.

TVLand’s so called “originals” are all in the same boat: tasteless! I find absolutely NO entertainment value whatsoever in rot such as Retired at 35, Hot in Cleveland and Happily Divorced, etc. These shows are certainly in a class all by themselves. I know several people who’ve sampled these “TVLand originals” and it took only one viewing to fully abstain from any future viewings.

I presume, Dean, that you’re one of these loser 20 or 30 something’s that hasn’t much happiness circulating in your lonely miserable life, eh? You “value” the worst that television has to offer. An evening with the Kardashian’s, Honey Poo Boo and Fran Drescher and “you feel” you have a fulfilling life. Oh dear, oh, dear!

Well, I’m glad I don’t mingle with loser’s like you sir. So go ahead and resume with your “love affair” of all of those tasteless presentations that modern television has to offer your simplistic mind.

    Good Day

Bring back Happily Divorce. It is a great show.Television and movies don’t have very good writers today. We need great tv like Happily Divorce. They always cancel the good shows.i like tv in the days in the60’s and70’s I could watch musicals all day on Saturdays. You wonder why these kids no nothing about the classic because there is no more good tv these days.

  29. KB says:

    This sucks! Boo TV land!

  30. Doula says:

I love you Fran Drescher. i loved the show. i couldn’t get enough of it. i even watched it over and over again on demand as well. Please come back. i have been a fan of yours for many years and even before the Nanny which i watch every single one of the reruns. Hope to see you soon. Best wishes to you…..D Bell

    • KB says:

Still have my fingers crossed that Fran will be back! I loved the Nanny, and the fact that her new show was based on her life made me curious for more.

  31. John says:

TV Land jumped the shark eons ago. Happily Divorced was just another one of TV Land’s ill conceived, in house, productions that never should’ve been given the green light. I personally find Ms. Drescher an irritating actress. I have nothing against her personally, but I just don’t care for her acting style. As rotten as Happily Divorced is, The Nanny is about as inferior as they come regarding sitcoms. Since TV Land has never recovered from its ills I shall remain an adamant opponent of the network.

  32. Jeremy says:

I have to say, whoever at TVLand decided to start making sitcoms for the network was just wrong. I will say, they did seem to strike gold with the first season of ‘Hot in Cleveland’, but they got greedy. They started spewing out dumb sitcoms one after another like the big networks and their ‘cancelled-sitcoms after cancelled-sitcoms’ schedule. They would have been fine had they kept playing older sitcoms and then ‘HIC’ in it’s designated time, but NO. They had to re-run it countless times throughout the following days for about a year later. And when that idea began to wear off – some idiot decided to come up with Retired at 35. Really, here’s a synopsis of their sitcom’s popularity in a nutshell.

HOT IN CLEVELAND – I won’t lie, I really liked the concept of this show when it began. It stood great by itself. But add in countless other bad sitcoms and HIC had to follow the trend. This past season of HIC blew chunks, while going nowhere with the storyline, might I add. As well, what show can be that good when it’s biggest surge in viewership is relied on by that week’s guest star? The show has had WAY too many over the past few seasons.

RETIRED AT 35 – Horrible and just sad premise, the show had its moments of actual watchability, but no one could deny it was a stinker, destined to make history as the first ever TVLand show to face cancellation.

HAPPILY DIVORCED – This was a valiant effort on TVLand’s part. Risky plotline with their older audience, not to mention, somewhat all-star casting (the term all-star being used loosely). But the network played off the gay storyline of the show so poorly. It just didn’t amount to much after awhile. The jokes and storylines went stale after the first season. But while it did go downhill fast, I don’t think it deserved to be the 2nd axed TVLand sitcom.

SOUL MAN – I absolutely hate this show. I don’t want to sound atheist or racist, but both stereotypes they’re using to get viewers for this show just appall me. The show’s religious undertones often get too preachy, and their black-stereotypes are atrocious. The jokes are NEVER funny and it just slaughters the talent of its 2 somewhat popular lead actors. I am surprised that the show has not been cancelled to this point. It is 100% awful.

THE EXES – A somewhat entertaining plot with somewhat all-star casting. You knew everybody had been on a previous popular show, even if you hadn’t seen it. And they haven’t heavily loaded this one down with guest star after guest star like Hot In Cleveland and Soul Man. I’ll say, I do think it could be somewhat enjoyable to a simpler audience. Sharper viewers will get bored easily, though. But to me, I feel this is TVLand’s 2nd most popular show, so expect it and HIC around for awhile.

KIRSTIE – This show isn’t even out yet, but I’ll definitely give my opinion. THIS SHOW WILL SUCK. ALL of it’s advertising has barely been highlighting the show, rather cramming the 3 all-star leads (Kirstie, Michael, Rhea) down our throats, making sure we remembered who they were. What about this show seems watchable rather than seeing these guys act again? It will be an awful show, mark my words. You will not like it.

BOTTOM LINE: TVLand needs to STOP spewing out these sitcoms like they’re golden. They’re far from great. Not even their star-show, Hot in Cleveland is good anymore. I feel what would be awesome would be if everyone somehow ‘boycotted’ the channel and they would be forced to cancel every single sitcom they’ve made and revert to older programming. Instead of making dumb new shows, just start showing great old ones. They’ve had Friends, 30 Rock, Mash, Boston Legal, and others on their lineup but none of them have stuck around (Friends has been shortlived on TVLand 2 separate times THIS YEAR). Keep bringing CLASSIC favorites, like they used to, and never should have stopped doing, and the channel will be back to normal. I’m seriously annoyed by this sitcom epidemic they’re having and want it gone as soon as possible.

      I agree!!

  33. Sally says:

Well if I googled why Happily Divorced has been cancelled, I guess I miss the show. This new Kirstie. Show is unwatchable for me. That 35 show was also unwatchable IMO.

  34. They finally made me cry, ‘Happily Divorced’ was one of my favorite shows. I had to go to TV Live to find out where it went. They have made a terrible mistake. The cast is terrific ,intelligent, clever and hilarious. Please bring it back,so I can watch,”Happily Divorced’, and laugh, laugh, till I cry for the right reason.

  35. debbie G. says:

I can’t believe that happily divorced is canceled. I just found out on line this was one of the best comedies it was on to late at night but I still enjoyed watching it. Please bring it back on to another network. I really miss this show. I hope to see it back on soon.

  36. Miki says:

The show was funny and the characters were very charming. Why did they have to cancel just when the hot British guy joined on?

  37. Laura says:

They cancel the show… yet play repeats every morning… watching it now! Does that make ANY sense? If it got such bad ratings why would they replay it! Will miss the show ❤

  38. kimberly says:

Very upset this show was canceled. In my opinion, it was TVLand’s best show. I liked it better than Hot in Cleveland. Any other new show on that network isnt funny at all. How is The Exes still on and this show not? Only show on network whose comedy didnt seemed forced. And Kirstie?…..YUCK!

  39. nicole williams says:

I think they made a big mistake cancelling happily divorced very funny and to the point comedy. Fran was hilarious and brought out the funny in pete.. Everybody on that showed enhanced the other and the show even paid homaged to people you havent seen in awhile stars like Joan Collins. This show will truly be missed the should of cancelled kirstie, bad decision Fran was very very funny!!!!

  40. ronnie says:

I loved this show. I didn’t know about it till later on. Tv land should have promotited it better. I was waIting for it to come back. Why do you always cancell the great shows. Miserable. :'(

  41. Mary Villelli says:

Bring back Happily Divorced, it was very funny and well written and I LOVE Fran D. I enjoy Hot In Cleaveland and the Exes, but Kirstie and the Soul Man need to go, BRING BACK Happily Divorced PLEASE!

  42. I like tv land but the time that you have the good programs is so bad, by the time hot in cleveland comes on i am asleep. start earlier get more viewers. I love it, better than some of the junk you have on .

  43. cj says:

Loved Happily Divorced, Fran & everyone else. Sad when the good shows get cancelled. Wish TVLand would bring it back! So much terrible TV these days! Not sure why I bother! Used to look forward to it every Wednesday when I got off work. Soul Man not half the show Happily Divorced was!! cj

  44. Linda says:

I’ve been waiting and waiting for happily divorced to come back on. What a disappointment to learn its not to be! I guess they didn’t say penis or vagina enough times in a half hour to qualify as a funny show nowadays . Fran is a funny lady. Tvland it’s your loss!! (and ours!)

  45. susanna says:

If by any chance you ate reading this Fran, then try to get another network to air this show! Honestly, this show saved my marriage. Watching it helped my husband and I reconnect through laughter. Please bring this fabulous show back!!!!!!

  46. sniffinthetears says:

I’m not at all surprised this show lasted only 2 seasons. I’m amazed it made it all the way through the first season. It is painful to watch. This mirrors her true life story of being married to a man she had NO idea was gay? Not in the 18 years they were married? Come on. He never did any actual work, but got a producer credit. Everyone who has a childhood best friend in Hollywood, gets put on salary with a producer credit for basically screwing the pooch. The real Peter should be ashamed of himself. Living off of his wife for so many years. I don’t believe for one second that he didn’t have at least suspicions that he was attracted to other men. Puh-leeze. What a waste of space.

  47. BIGGEST mistake in history was to end The Nanny and Happily Divorced! LOVE these shows…nothing else can compare

  48. Tracey says:

I’m so disappointed. I loved the show How could they cancel such a funny show.

  49. Lisa says:

Why do all the good shows get cancelled? I love Happily Divorced and Fran Drescher is fantastic!!

  50. Dale says:

I am very disappointed that Happily Divorced is not on the air. I saw a rerun today and laughed through the whole show. All the stars are first rate and great. Why was it cancelled?
