“The lives of the people of Arcadia, Missouri are forever changed when their deceased loved ones return” – wait, so it’s just the kid and some kind of bland emotional melodrama (that’s the impression the first promo gave me), or we’ll see more cases, and more delving into what happened and why it happened? I mean, that’s what I was wishing for when I first read what the show was about, with some kind of underlying fantasy/supernatural/sci-fi plot, and became quite disappointed after watching the promo with Kurtwood Smith, Frances Fisher, & co… It just gave me the impression the show is about the drama & implications of the kid returning to his elder parents and their long-time hometown, or whatever…

Read the book, The Returned, by James Mott. This is where the story comes from. I think you will see that it is a great story and you will be quite surprised. Give it chance before you just dismiss it. Plus, look at the cast. Great actors and a newbie who happens to be a very handsome and funny little guy.

Kathleen is great! Loved her on Alphas.

This show sounds great but there trailer for the pilot makes it seen much more like a drama, rather than a mystery thriller which would’ve fit the premise a lot better.

Watch Les Revenants (The Returned). It is a 8 part French show that recently aired in the UK with English subtitles. Same concept of the recently deceased returning to a small town. The show is amazing.

Excellent you say? The trailer looked really weak to me but if you say it’s excellent I’ll be sure to check it out!

  6. “What happens when the people you have mourned and buried suddenly appear on your doorstep as if not a day’s gone by?” the zombie apocalypse begins.

Not the most original idea. Its already been done (and very well too) in the French show Les Revenants (The Returned), and the 2004 film that was based on.

This is a remake of les revenants

  9. They could hire Joe Flanigan too :)
