Ratings: CBS Sunday Only Dips Slightly Despite TWC Blackout, Secret Millionaire Depreciates

Ratings CBS Time Warner BlackoutDespite being blacked out by Time Warner Cable to 3.2 million of its customers in the major markets of New York, Los Angeles and Dallas, CBS’ Sunday line-up only experienced slight declines.

Opening the night, 60 Minutes drew 8.1 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating, down 3 percent and a tenth. Big Brother (6.8 mil/2.2) and Unforgettable (7 mil/1.2) meanwhile matched their week-ago audiences while ticking down a tenth in the demo.

NBC’s Sunday Night Football pre-season coverage dominated Sunday with a prelim audience of 9.1 mil/3.3 rating — down some 11 percent from the fast nationals for the last time NBC hosted a pre-season opener.

Elsewhere, ABC’s Secret Millionaire returned to 5 mil and a 1.2, down 11 and 20 percent from last summer’s premiere, and Whodunnit? (3 mil/1.0) tied season lows.

  • I had CBS last night, but not Showtime or (I think) TMC. I hadn’t expected to have CBS since Showtime didn’t even display on my cable channel menu and going directly to the station displayed a message about CBS’ “outrageous” demands.

  • It isn’t just time warner unless dish is part of them and a few other cable companies. I am not in one of those three cities and lost cbs before they did on Aug 1.

  • I went and picked up an antennae so i could watch CBS.. though not missing the Dodgers games on KCAL on monday and tuesday was more of an incentive.

  • Matt, I know this is for network shows, but Showtime was blocked… Any idea how Dexter held up?
