Sherlock Season 3 Sneak Peek: He's Alive!

Get More: First Look, Previews, Video

Sherlock‘s recently released teaser trailer for its upcoming Season 3 confirms what we already knew: Our hero survived that fall off the roof at the end of last season. (Still, it’s nice to see him in the flesh, right?)

As you rejoice, press PLAY and watch some ominous footage from the BBC One drama, intercut with Benedict Cumberbatch‘s Sherlock striding purposefully toward Martin Freeman‘s Watson in what looks like a restaurant. (And speaking of Watson, check out that ‘stache!)

  • Maybe I’m the only one surprised that he isn’t dead…..after all, he didn’t die until later in the books.

        • Ha. They’re probably the same people who think a certain person from Downton Abbey ISN’T dead when we all know that actor is not coming back (cue Wizard of Oz gatekeeper voice) not no way not no how. They keep going ‘totally could’ve survived! Wait and see!’ Nope. Snuffed it. That said, Sherlock may not be dead, but after our first taste of new material in so long, I am. The only thing that can cure me–besides more cowbell–would be getting to see the next season/series of Sherlock. Hurry up, Moffat! I want to go to there!

  • Of course Sherlock is alive. Did no one at TV Line watch the very end of the last episode??!! Sherlock was in the cemetary watching Watson at Sherlock’s gravesite. The real question is how he pulled off the nosedive from the roof and how he got all convinced is was him in the first place.

  • I love the expression on Mycroft’s face – sort of like, “Oh, there you are, Sherlock. You do realize what a mess you’ve made, don’t you?”

  • The question has never been whether he survived, but how. I seriously wonder how so many people missed seeing him watch John at the graveyard.

  • He jumped into the garbage truck that was pulling away as John got to the scene. John’s original vantage point had a building blocking his view of impact. Molly must’ve then flung a fake corpse out into the sidewalk. Elementary, folks, elementary.
