Emmy Best Supporting Actor Comedy NomineesFor the past three years, the men of ABC’s Modern Family dominated this category — and there’s every reason to believe Ed O’Neill, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ty Burrell and Eric Stonestreet will hear their respective names announced come nominations day on July 18. That leaves two open slots and a myriad of options, including past nominees Max Greenfield and Bill Hader, and the long-overdue Simon Helberg.

  1. Kristen says:

Just because Glee has totally fallen apart doesn’t mean Chris doesn’t deserve a nomination. He’s a brilliant actor and does the very best with what little he’s given.

  2. Daniel says:

I think Chris is a gifted, natural actor. However, the writing of Glee this season was so bad, no one deserves an Emmy because they had nothing to work with. And sad to say on top of that, Chris phoned it in this year. He rarely felt present even when he was on screen. It was very disappointing since I have connected with his portrayal of Kurt in the past so much. Maybe he’s just over it, but it just wasn’t right.

  3. Ella says:

i would so love if Happy Endings or Community was nominated.

  4. Claire says:

Glee is an awful, awful show, but Chris is legitimately a good actor. Of course, he’s becoming submitted as a comedic actor, and Glee is far from a comedy nowadays, but he’s /damn/ good and is really one of the only good parts of Glee anymore.

Not to say there aren’t other good actors up here, because there are. But I see hate on Chris in here, and Chris is a generous talent!

  5. Tony says:

    My selection:

    Max Greenfield,,
    Nick Offerman,
    John Krasinski,
    Ed O’Neill
    Ty Burrell
    Damon Wayans Jr.

Would also love for Jesse Tyler Fergusson to be recognised, and NPH. Other actors deserving to be considered are:

    Ed O’Neill
    Adam Driver
    Chris Colfer
    Chris Pratt

  6. M says:

And Happy Endings sweeps the noms and ABC realizes what tools they are…if only.

  7. Bar Colfer says:

  8. Chris Colfer Is Good says:

Too bad that Chris Colfer is out of the running. Not because he is bad actor, but because Glee become a crap.

  9. TV Gord says:

    Ty Burrell
    Michael Cera
    Donald Glover
    Bill Hader
    Simon Helberg
    Danny Pudi

I would love to see Danny Pudi get it! I hope Simon submitted that episode where he did all of those impressions! I garnered new respect for him after that performance!

  10. TV Gord says:

I believe Kunal Nayyar deserves to be considered a major contender.

  11. Angela says:

Ugh, why you gotta make me choose between Donald Glover, Danny Pudi, and Jim Rash? Can we just have a three-way tie instead, or something?

  12. Goldie says:

I’d watch Chris in anything – thy need a special category just for Kurt and Burt scenes. And all you haters, what did you accomplish by the time you were 22 or 23? It’s hardly his fault the writing is so spotty but he’s fantastic with whatever they give him.

  13. Moony says:

I really hope the cast of Parks and Recreation get the acknowledgement that they so truly deserve , but at the same time I really can’t help but root for Ty Burrell and Bill Hader. Chris Colfer too, well Glee sucks but he’s good . Nick offerman too. but in Women it’s only Amy Pohler’s !

  14. Hedy says:

Chris Colfer is one of the best actors I know.. I don’t know about the others, but definitely he’s the one, who should be nominated.. Chris Colfer.

  15. steph says:

    Chris Colfer!

  16. Jaime04 says:

Chris Colfer and Neil Patrick Harris both deserve this!!!!! Max Greenfield??!! – just NO!!! He is awful!!

  17. jonas says:

Where the hell is Mr K from Go On? What a shame Emmy….

And there’s more. If TBBT wins as outstanding comedy series, it’s gonna be ridiculous
