On TV this Thursday: Vampire Diaries fans, get ready for some Originals flavor drama; Project Runway‘s season finale is hard Kors; The Office takes flight and Glee goes acoustic. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features, here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.
8 pm The Vampire Diaries (The CW) | Tonight you get the planted pilot for The Originals, TVD‘s Klaus-centric potential spin-off. In it, a mysterious tip leads the vampire to New Orleans, where he’s reunited with his former protégé Marcel (Charles Michael Davis, Grey’s Anatomy) and followed by Elijah. Oh, and Hayley’s there, too, and she’s fallen into the hands of a powerful witch. (Peruse some preview photos and find out why Claire Holt says The Originals is even “darker” than its sire.)
8 pm The Big Bang Theory (CBS) | When one of Sheldon’s favorite TV shows is canceled too soon, Amy tries to help him get over his compulsive need for closure. (A word of solace, Sheldon: Kickstarter.)
8 pm Community (NBC) | Academy Award-winning screenwriter Jim Rash aka Dean Pelton himself penned tonight’s episode, in which Troy and Abed switch bodies. Wondering about Rash’s creative process? “I just wrote words on a napkin,” he joked to TVLine, “and said, ‘Let’s see what happens!” (The installment also includes Rash and co-star Joel McHale’s favorite Dean-Jeff moment ever – watch a preview.)
9 pm Project Runway (Lifetime) | Two-hour Season 11 finale: Michael Kors is back to help Heidi, Nina and Zac determine a winner. (Not yet renewed, though Season 12 casting is underway.)
9 pm Grey’s Anatomy (ABC) | The CDC investigates the deaths of several of Bailey’s patients as Jackson and the rest of the board members argue over how to address the crisis with the public. Jennifer Bassey (All My Children) guest-stars.
9 pm Glee (Fox) | The power goes out at McKinley, giving New Directions the perfect reason to unplug with some acoustic tunes. (Check out preview pics.) In New York, Isabelle asks Kurt to volunteer at a charity event, and Rachel and Santana tag along for the fashionable ride. Meanwhile, I wonder what Sue’s been up to since the last time we saw her?
9 pm Beauty and the Beast (The CW) | As Gabe reveals to Cat that he knows about Muirfield, Vincent’s suspicions of the ADA’s intentions create tension for the couple. (See exclusive photo/finale preview.)
9 pm The Office (NBC) | Dwight and Angela vie for a cash prize in an office-wide paper-airplane contest.
10 pm Elementary (CBS) | Sherlock doesn’t want to celebrate his first year of sobriety. Good thing he has a blackmailer’s murder to take his mind off things! Portia Reiners (One Live to Live) guest-stars.
10 pm Hannibal (NBC) | It’s probably a good idea not to eat while watching any episode of this show, but tonight – as Will tracks a killer who gives his victims wings (it’s nowhere near as pretty as it sounds) — that’s doubly true. Meanwhile, Crawford’s wife Bella (Suits‘ Gina Torres), who’s hiding a secret, begins seeing Lecter as her therapist. (Tonight’s originally scheduled hour has been reformatted as a Web series.)
