Da Vinci's Debut Delivers an All-Time High for Starz, Spartacus Goes Out Strong
Da Vinci’s Demons has designs on a viewership record for Starz, premiering on Friday night to 2.14 million total viewers across multiple airings, our sister site Deadline reports.
That tally edges out the cabler’s previous viewership record for an original series launch — 2.09 million, set by Camelot.
With its initial 10 pm airing, Da Vinci’s Demons drew 1.04 million. This Friday it makes its regular time slot debut, Fridays at 9/8c.
Leading into the new drama, Spartacus: War of the Damned closed the swords-and-sandals saga with a total audience of 1.43 million, up 53 percent over the final season’s premiere. Across multiple airings, Spartacus‘ swan song amassed 2.7 million viewers, up 5 percent versus its season opener and improving 11 percent on its season average.
