The CW Drives Struggling Cult Off Schedule and Straight Into TV Graveyard

Cult CancelledBad news, Cult followers: The CW has officially pulled the low-rated thriller off the schedule.

The network on Wednesday revealed its revised Friday night lineup spanning the month of April — and the Matthew Davis-starring drama is nowhere to be found.

Replacing Cult in the coming weeks are repeats of both The Carrie Diaries and Oh Sit.

The CW has yet to officially announce a cancellation, but Cult creator Rockne O’Bannon all but confirmed the news via Twitter after his series was yanked. “Cult Sadly true,” he wrote. “CW Execs once called the last 5 episodes ‘outstanding.’ I guess too outstanding. You are great, SMART fans. Thx to u all!”

Cult originally launched on Tuesday nights but was quickly carted off to Fridays after just two barely-viewed outings.
