Updated: Future of Glee Project in Jeopardy as Glee Renewal Talks Drag On

The Glee Project CancelledOxygen will likely be forced to postpone or scrap the next season of The Glee Project, TVLine has learned.

Although the cable network declined to comment, sources confirm that a number of factors — not the least of which is that Glee itself hasn’t been renewed yet — contributed to the decision to (at least temporarily) shelve the reality spin-off.

This would be sad for me! Some of my favorite characters lately have come from the winners of this show, even though they don’t usually get storylines that mean much. (Thank god for Blake/Ryder’s stories though, they have some depth!) Plus, I love getting to know new talent and people, and wondering about how they can fit in on Glee. And, admittedly, the drama is great too! Sometimes it’s even more enjoyable than Glee, so it’ll be a shame if it isn’t brought back.

  2. Bar says:

Oh for heaven’s sake. stick a fork in it—-it’s done!! The show is a sham, designed to build ratings for Glee. The prior winners (those that weren’t pre-selected) received dismal treatment. What keep up the pretense? Who cares?

Glee could/should go on forever since it is a HS Glee Club, & every year there is a new class (i am a teacher so.’ I Know’. ) Develop a SpinOff for the ones who grad. & move to NYC. …..Oh, they have already done that…S4 concentrated Too much on NYC …so there is the SpinOff. * NOW GET BACK TO THE CLASSROOM & MR. SHUE’s New class (we have to do it every yr. so surely RM & the team can tweek it & keep Glee going.) Every yr is different & not every Glee Club member is a nerd. Esp. if it is winning N’tls. That just brings in more talented students…with all new ‘teen age problems’. Bring a real school show choir teacher & a real HS Counselor as Advisors & the writers would have more than enough material. ‘However never get far away from the TOLERANCE message’ ! The 1st 3 seasons REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE in that discussion & reaction in schools across N.AM. !
COME ON GUYS CONTINUE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE…….& GO to your NYC SpinOff & take that discussion to Colleges !

I would love to see another season of this show! I pretty much never watched the regular Glee after the first 3 seasons but I was addicted to the project show! I hope they keep it going!!!
