Office Hot Shots: The Gang Gets Their First Taste of Fame as Documentary Hits the Small Screen

The staff of a certain Scranton-area paper company may soon become acquainted with a four-letter F-word: fame.

The Office‘s upcoming show-within-a-show — aka the documentary that’s resulted from a camera crew following the Dunder Mifflinites over the past nine years — is set to launch a series of promos during the comedy’s April 4 installment (NBC, 9/8c), and we have a sneak peek at the gang reveling in the excitement of their TV debut.

Elsewhere in the scoopy pics, Phyllis and Andy are on the receiving end of some sort of watery prank. (Any theories as to what the heck’s going on?)

  • Surely Michael Scott would be at the center of the promos for the first handful of years of the documentary…

    • No it’s gonna be about Charles Miner. Of course Michael Scott will be.

  • I reall yhope we see Michael in the promos. Surely NBC owns the footage Even though Steve Carrel is against coming back I don’t think NBC would have to okay it by him, would they?

  • They filmed a show for 9 years before it ever reached a TV?

This is just called bad writing on the show’s part. They should have just never revealed who was taping if it was going to be this lame.

    • Have you ever watched the show?

      • Yes. And what network will be giving money to a filming crew to shoot on location in a paper company for 9 years and then finally go “I guess we have enough to make an episode of something”. It’s just stilly.

    • Maybe that’s the concept of the documentary. A decade at a paper company.

      • That’s a a show.
Maybe something happens at the paper company.
        No, nothing happens!!!

    • Get over it. It’s a TV show, not reality. No need for the killjoy attitude.

    • Holy hell, David, it’s a fictional TV series. They can do whatever they want. ‘Lost’ had people surviving on a very strange island for years, with a real, live “smoke monster”. Did you complain about that not being based in reality?

  • Such an ingenious way to wrap this show up, I love it. The Casino Night kiss has to be in there, and the almost-kiss on the Booze Cruise. Also Angela and Dwight sneaking around when they thought nobody knew. Michael’s most vulnerable moments that made us realize he wasn’t REALLY a creepy weirdo. These last eps are gonna make me cry. I thought I was ready for this show to be done, but I have loved this season so much that I realize that I am really going to mourn these characters.
