Exclusive Sneak Preview: The Simpsons Go Noir

If you’ve ever suspected there’s a seedier side to Springfield, this Simpsons couch gag is for you.

The following exclusive clip from Sunday’s episode (Fox, 8/7c) is “Film Noir,” an original Simpsons short by Oscar-nominated animator Bill Plympton. Just like last week’s installment opened with Homer & Co. doing the Harlem Shake, this week’s will begin with Plympton’s stylized take on a typical Simpsons family interaction.

The episode also features 30 Rock‘s Tina Fey playing a substitute teacher who bullies Lisa, evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins voicing himself and Ned fuming when his parents prefer Homer’s company over his.

If the video hasn’t automatically begun, press PLAY to watch Plympton’s version of the cartoon clan, then hit the comments: What’s your favorite Simpsons couch gag?

Comments are monitored, so don’t go off topic, don’t frakkin’ curse and don’t bore us with how much your coworker’s sister-in-law makes per hour. Talk smart about TV!

  1. TV Gord says:

    I’m in Canada, so I can’t watch this video, but is this a new Plympton intro, because he did one for The Simpsons that aired in the past year. Is this a second one?

  2. Brock says:

    Surprise surprise this content is unavaliable. Geotagging a minute long couch gag is idiotic and unnecessary and is only going to force people to find it elsewhere…

  3. dee123 says:

    Typically. Geo blocked.

  4. TV Gord says:

    It’s not TV Line’s fault that it’s blocked. It’s because the networks in your countries have the rights to the video, so it is blocked on their behalf. For me in Canada, it’s Global/Shaw, and it’s their fault that THEY haven’t posted it anywhere.

    However, since there has been a non-response from TV Line, I think it’s probably the same intro we saw last season during episode 23.15, Beware My Cheating Bart, which aired on April 15th, 2012.

    Let’s see, the world, via the internet, has become a global community. Yet some asshole, in some meaningful job to him only, decides that you can only watch it on Sunday because you don’t live in the Continental Us, evan though we are closer than Alaska or Hawaii. You are too funny. ¦;-{}

    Also: I thought the internet decided that autoplay was lame about 10 years ago?
