Exclusive Smash Preview: Karen and Jimmy Kiss Again -- But There's a Twist!

Karen and Jimmy agreed to keep things strictly professional on the latest episode of Smash, so how come they’re back and locking lips in this exclusive preview video from next Tuesday’s episode, “The Fringe” (10/9c on NBC)? And why the heck is Derek staring moodily at the Broadway babies while they go at it?

As you might’ve guessed, the big smooch happens onstage — while the twosome performs the ballad “Heart-Shaped Wreckage” from Jimmy’s musical The Hit List during its Fringe Festival debut. And Derek — as he sometimes likes to do — upgrades the minimalist staging and sets in his director’s mind. (Not only that, he reimagines Karen with darker, wavier hair — a decision I enthusiastically support!)

Why do you people continue to compare this show to Glee? It has a different basis, a different audience, a different everything. Be more original. Just because they both have music doesn’t make them the same. The main difference being that Glee will still be on the air next season.

I don’t get all the Jimmy hate – he is by far the most interesting character introduced this season. He was obviously written as a bad boy with massive trust issues, and he clearly likes Karen a lot. I think it must have been a while since somebody invested so much time in him or had as much faith in him as Karen has, and her not going through with Hit List is a betrayal in his eyes – hence why he was a total douche to her last episode. I love all the Hit List music etc so far and can’t wait to see/hear more. Please don’t cancel this show NBC!

PLEASE PLEASE… Smash writers… DROP THE JEREMY JORDAN character!

Yes I get that he’s supposed to be unlikeable and eventually redeemed.

And Yes, I agree that Jeremy Jordan is talented, his singing really moves me and he’s not a bad actor at all.

But the relationship between he and Karen is just a terrible mismatch. The two of them have no chemestry and there sceenes together are just DULL!

Jeremy adds nothing to Smash and this is not a good role for him at all.

Please, Smash writers, write Jeremy Jordan out of this show and give Karen a love interest where she can sizzle!!
